Try and get in contact with the admin, or find their web site, and ask for a full map list so you can download them out of the game while you're doing other stuff.

Actually it's opposite for me. I can't play Valve maps much cause of the high poly count and all, so I usually play custom ones, because they have lower poly.
Idle servers with friendly fire on are fun.
All the orange maps. Is the only thing my laptop's processor can handle without jittering like an old bitch.

Eh if your computer sucks it's an acceptable way to get the basic Team Fortress 2 experience, but I wouldn't call it a "good map".

Also, there was this one Payload map that was massive, it ended with a massive pit. It was huge and playing in it felt more like an epic adventure than a round of a game. I don't recall it's name, though.
