UPDATE:
-moved the barrel down as to align with the syringes so it looks like it can actually work (in the tf2 sense at least)
-added a connector between the syringe canister that will lead to the barrel so the syringes have somewhere to travel out
-moved the cross shaped crosshair from the main body of the gun to the tip of the barrel, in similar fashion to the sniper's smg
-added a replacement crosshair like flange thingy on the same spot where the cross shaped crosshair used to be
this might very well be the final side sketch i'll use before i start working on more angle pictures. any final words of improvements (besides the coloring, which sucks, yes i know)[/QUOTE]

i would tweak a few more things still. maybe move the handle + trigger downwards and closer to the syringe canister.
one problem is that it doesn't look too much like any sort of rifle/smg because it doesn't have the iconic protruding clip. If you're doing custom model/animations, why not change the concept and create plexiglass clips with visible syringes inside, long and thin just like the MP40's, and use those instead of the default syringe canisters?
i know a WIP model has already been created, but it might not be too late.

well, the original syringe gun is pretty much an smg already, so if it were a pistol model, it would be fully automatic...
plus, the MP40 is (i think?) officially considered a submachinegun. if he's basing if off that, then the model ought to resemble a submachinegun, no?

as satisfying as that seems to me (bloody spies backstabbin' me while i heal...), DChapsfield's got it right. I can kind of see why you wouldn't want that long barrel on a PISTOL design, but i'll see what i can do (was thinking of just going back to the v1 design and just finagling around with the gun's body design right now)

The soldier animation looks weird. He holds thin air, then his hand slides into the rocket launcher, then he holds it floating off the ground.
It's just gonna look bad I guess. That and the Direct Hit is just one model to compile, not two like the regular launcher.
Is there a difference between the sentry rockets and the soldier rockets? (other than the sentry has four)

that's actually the picture i was using when i was designing my weapon. your idea actually HAS crossed my mind during the initial design, but my only issue was that it would be one heck of a long cartridge with 40 syringes to hold IMHO. i could be wrong, but this is definitely worth looking into, tho somehow, the design starts looking like any other assault rifle in my mind

i can animate it, sure sure.
Someone needs to make a Model 1887 or Ranger replacement for either of the Scout's shotguns.
Maybe even the comical one hand spin animation for the 1887?
