You don't actually start leveling until you get a hat, and that hat's level determines your level. You level up by getting better hats. Unusuals actually add an unseen 100 levels to yours, plus that hat's written level.
What is this nonsense The level bonus clearly depends upon the effect.
We have a thread on tf2 campaign don't make this thread devolve into it
You need to buy the Campaign version. The game does moral choice decisions really well, like at the end of the game where [sp] you're forced to side with the secretly scheming Engineers who want to activate the rocket at Dustbowl to destroy the Moon Settlement thus stopping the Giygabeast, or the freedom-fighting terrorist Soldiers who want to destroy the rocket, thus sparing millions of lives, but the Giygabeast will make it to Earth and a bloody conflict will ensue.[/sp]

TF2 is the best turn based strategy I've ever played.
TF2 is the best turn based strategy I've ever played.
Yeah, one time I used my Backstab attack and missed, and the Sniper used his No-scope attack and missed also, I then used my Revolver attack and got a critical hit.
This calls for a revival of the campaign thread.
This.
If TF2 is an MMORPG, then it's the best one I've ever played.
You understand satire, right?
I do, I just think that it's gone too far. if his mom won't let him use his credit card, then he's obviously a kid. and when you play a game that you think is one genre, but is actually another, you get really confused. especially when everyone says that it is a MMORPG by saying things like "you have to be level 20 to upgrade your hats" it just makes him mad, or more confused. unless he wasn't derious and I can continue beliving in god. I remember this almost happened to me with yoshi on virtual console. thought I was gonna get yoshie's island, but it was actually a tetris-esque game. and codemonkey, do more research than watching the official, un-game-play-like trailers. Do things like check the official wiki.

I get the joke, he's either an idiot, a kid, or joking, I just think it's gone too far.
TF2 with a Borderlands style gameplay would be interesting, if done right. Except Heavy would probably just be another Brick. Literally.
I get the joke, he's either an idiot, a kid, or joking, I just think it's gone too far.
id say something extremely offensive because of my feelings towards you but i would get banned
Can't tell if serious or just stupid. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Wait... What.
Can't tell if serious or just stupid. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Wait... What.
wow seriously how dumb can you people be
I did that for awhile, but than I wanted to see more of what the game had to offer. It took me a long time to figure out most of the gameplay mechanics like 'hats' and new weapons which you didn't really get from looting or accomplishing quests but they were just kind of given to you randomly which took the challenge out of finding rare items.
That's the hardest bit in the entire game. and yes it's a gameplay feature.

Reminds me of the generic daily spuf thread.
Dude, I've got the solution for you. Find a Dustbowl server and talk to Miss Pauling. She will periodically give you quests. What you played was ghost mode, a dimension where players only watch a PvP arena and get killed easily. It's a different perspective for an MMO. After she gives you quests you can go do them for quick coins and XP. After you're done, go to the weapons vendor at Pipeline so you can upgrade your gear. Choose wisely depending on your class. For example if you're a Medic, buy things such as the Overdose and Quickfix. The weapons level up along with you. Every ten levels, the weapons get a special effect and attribute. When you're above Level 30, you can go to Ravine and talk to the Duelmaster. He will give you a special quest. When you complete it, he will create a portal at Ravine that can let you go to PvP arenas and teleport to any other region quickly. To enter a train, you must be above Level 35. While the train is passing by and you're near it, it will stop automatically and let you enter, asking for a destination. Pick Sawmill. There, you can play King of the Hill which is a special PvP gamemode. It only works on certain regions. Next update, there will be monsters which you can hunt or adopt. A hat gives you special attributes. For example: Fancy Fedora gives you +7 Charm. Football Helmet gives you +11 Strength. Good luck!
Someone please tell me this guy is either joking or really retarded.

I know the OP is a joke, but it kind of brings up a point. The new TF2 is extremely unique, there's nothing else like it. The trading/crafting/inventory mechanics sometimes do feel MMOish.
Because it sort of is a MMO. Only a MMOFPS instead of a MMORPG.
MMOFPS massive multiplayer online first person shooter. That's what it has always been. May I suggest MMOHTS?
