Gah. He never said "Late August" that was people bending the truth to avoid insanity. The PC Gamer interview confirmed that the next major update would arrive "next month" which at the time was September, and would contain the winners of the Polycount Contest, a bonus pack from the contest, trading, and a new gamemode. Nothing else has been said full stop.
PC Gamer only said that it would most likely be out this month. Not specifically confirmed to be this month. It's just speculation and guessing at the moment. There is still that chance that it isn't this month.

It was NEVER said that it would be late August. The only thing that they have said is that it will "Likely be released next month" which at the time was September. I don't know where you people got the idea of "Late August, Early September" from.
