What is the point of leveled weapons?

I have a few random levelled weapons, and I refuse to craft them, no matter how close I am to that last refined metal. They are all there, on page 2, my protected weapons.

I used to have a level 68 FaN, I was so proud of it and thought it pwned all others, but then I crafted it out of stupidity when I was trying out the crafting system.
