Help?[/QUOTE] I'd suggest opening the model in a Hex editor, look towards the bottom to find the texture path. Make sure all the texture paths are leading to the correct file, that includes VMTs. I don't know what I can tell ya past that. [editline]1[/editline] Also, in the HEX EDITOR, make sure the texture path is leading to the VMT, not the VTF, but that's only if the VMT and VTF are named differently.
I wish I could help you Rageguy, I have the exact same problem, posted about it multiple times a while ago, no one ever helped.

Open your model .smd in notepad++ and check if the material names are the same as the material file you actually used. If the model says "fuckme_testlol.png" while your vmt uses "c_modelhere.tga" you aren't doing it right. They need to be the same. Discovered that I was using the wrong number of bones on the thumbs. That knocked down my polycount quite a bit. I think I'm at about 6,700 polys. The polycount is going nowhere but up from here
