How about a textured grip?
The Can should have orange bands round the top and bottom perhaps with a flammable symbol and some text?

Not necessarily a decal, but could you put a label or something of that sort on the canister? Or treat it similarly to the Medic's backpack and have the canister team-coloured? I feel as if the canister and the grip are perhaps the areas that could most easily break up the monochromatic feel of the weapon and make it a bit more lively and, more importantly, noticeable at a distance.

I'd imagine the reason for having the arms up in the air for the penetration headshot is because otherwise there'd pretty much just be a circle behind the first guy and it wouldn't be especially clear. Clarification, basically.
I think my problem with the kill-icons Neo's proposing there is that the weapons aren't very clear. I can work out what's what, but it took a bit of thought when kill-icons should ideally be recognisable at a glance. Also it makes the ambassador look huge.

for the idle maybe some movement in the fingers, like doing waaves with them if you know what i mean.
for the swing maybe and a more slicing twist of the wrist?
and for the backstab maybe give the hand a more menacing pose? like more tense and for the actual stab make it look like he's really jamming his fingers into their spine

I'm not [i]entirely[/i] sure, but I believe these are placeholder animations. The original plan was that Max agreed to animate the weapon.
That being said, it's Sputnik's weapon, and if it turns out he's animating it himself than I apologize for saying otherwise.

I think that for the backstab animations he needs to turn his fingers a bit inwards like he is planning to stab something and maybe play a little with his fingers when the stab is over

I will weight the model, so MaxOfS2D can animate it!
