Remade the mask because the old one looked like shit. This one looks a bit better I think and it's closer to Sharc's original concept. Looks good with most of his hats but of course there's still unavoidable clipping with a few of them.

The uv mapping for this Handyman is making me rip my hair out.
Pelt mapping garbles it into a mess, plus the video shows options available that my 3ds for some reason won't let me use (they are greyed out, but there). Then every other mapping looks like shit apparently. :V

Here's a proposition.
The World Traveler's Hat is already ranked from Bronze to Unobtanium through amount of stamps purchased. But its not even visibly noticeable.
Mappers receive significantly less money from stamps than modelers do from their items, even though mappers receive 100% of the profits, and modelers receive 25%.
Make the change in the World Traveler's Hat visibly noticeable on the model and give incentive to purchase more stamps? Mappers can use a little stimulation in their economy to catch up with the modelers in these communities.

Initial payments are still very small compared to item profits.

However, that value is considerably lower than what usable and wearable items generate as far as sales through the mann co store are concerned.

I hate to ask such a generic modelling question, but how do you guys go about ensuring UV maps with lots of curves use as much space as possible. After finally unwrapping all the pieces to their right shapes, I got this:

Obviously this isn't ideal, but there are tonnes of odd shapes that really don't fit together. Could someone link me to any online tutorials? (Also yes there are identical parts that aren't overlapped, but they have to be separate because they have different AO bakes)

When buying a weapon or a hat, it at least shows up/allows you to use it.
Beyond buying one stamp, there's almost no intensive (except for generosity) to purchase another.
And I can't say from experience, but aren't maps harder to create than items?
