I think it more depends on the map then anything else and I wouldn't be suprised if valve allowed people to have some creative freedom with it. Plus IIRC we're basing it off a single calander model in the game, which is used in one or two maps?
the calendar overlay is used in the majority of spawn rooms across the game, but hey, if you don't want your map to be set in mid-1968... how about late 1968?
It's based off the 1960's theme. Though medieval mode is the main contradiction to that in a sense.
DeGroot Keep has some hidden computer terminals though, so it's likely just another secret base. And the mercs like to larp :v:

It's basically like Gyazo, and you can even set it up to automatically upload to imgur.
DeGroot Keep has some hidden computer terminals though, so it's likely just another secret base. And the mercs like to larp :v:
No, you see DeGroot Keep is owned by the Demoman, which means he's exceedingly rich. So he's paying the rest of the mercs to play by his own drunken pseudo-medieval rules. After all, Demoman with his melee gear has an advantage in medieval mode. It makes so much sense!

The crossbow for halloween update is like the cannon rocket launcher for medieval update
The crossbow for halloween update is like the cannon rocket launcher for medieval update
Which means never gonna happen real.
What are you talking about?
My original, unfinished skin I handed to Sexy for him to polish.
Too garish for tf2.
Too garish for tf2.
Must we go into this.
Adding some details to the Meat Meter, or whatever I'll end up calling this when I'm done. Added some wear to the lens, and a bit of blood, though I added a bit too much blood and it's kinda blurry, gonna fix that.
I for one like it without the gold
Too garish for tf2.
In addition, the amount of model detail is also unlike TF2. I can see well over 20 bolts and nuts along with several other unnecessary model decals like the decorative pipes scattered over the crossbow stock for no reason. But on the other hand, Emporium has always been a place where modelers do whatever they want regardless of TF2 style anyways, so I'm not complaining. I'm just beginning to notice it's pointless to even mention it anymore just because nobody listens anyways. And then there's always the arguments everyone throws up against logic saying that the 'art style' was thrown out of the window a long time ago, inevitably pointing out "Deus Ex items are too futuristic; Earbuds don't fit, etc." That's just my 2 cents on the model anyways. Also, Sparkwire's texture looks great. I prefer it over the temporary brass colors it had.
Well, I for one like it with the gold.
I recommend using zscreen. It's basically like Gyazo, and you can even set it up to automatically upload to imgur.
Or http://www.speedcap.net/
Too garish for tf2.
The new version is too grimdark
sparkwire's base texture, with casey's gold trim.
My original, unfinished skin I handed to Sexy for him to polish.
Keep some of it brass-like, as it is here. The front parts, sight/pipe on top, and ends of the bow would be my suggestion; everything else are pretty much small details that wouldn't need to be highlighted. If you don't, I'll do it as a skin. ...I'll probably steampunk this thing either way.
The new version is too grimdark
I for one like grimdark.
that sniper pauldron REALLY doesn't need a crosshair
sparkwire's base texture, with casey's gold trim.
profesonal mokup do not stela
