Hey, here's a question: If I'm making a replacement for the Scout's shoes, do I have to rig them to just the bip_foot_L and bip_foot_R bones, or do I have to rig them to bip_toe_L and bip_toe_R as well?

It kinda bugs me how the handle is completely black in the dark, it's got all these glowy parts around it, so those would reflect on it. If you made the big block at the top glow faintly I think it'd look better.

Sorry, but that's not going to happen. Making a billion extra options just to suit a few people is too much work for a project that's been delayed long enough already. The new pack is going to include [b]one icon for each item[/b] (at least from me; if another team member wants to make alternatives, I might include those). Making custom-tailored alternatives for each and every non-gun-shaped item was a pain in the ass before and it's a pain in the ass now. I'm picking one style and sticking with it.
I'm sticking with mannequin heads; Valve was genius for coming up with them. The mannequin heads highlight the item better and make it easier to see in the UI compared to having the actual heads on there. They remove the need to screw around with expressions and editing out the necks, which were annoying, time-consuming elements. Icons need to get done faster with as standardized a method as possible now, because once we're finally caught up and the pack is released I intend on keeping it updated again. No more messing around.
If you want customized alternatives, you can do it yourself. And that's not me being a jerk, that's me reminding you that [url=http://tf2b.com/blog/?p=192]I released a huge, extremely-detailed tutorial on how to make icons exactly like I do[/url] a while ago. It's not rocket science.

If you're going for a skull look, I'd say put on less paint, especially to the cheek/jaw area. No need to color the ears for example. Also, try to pronounce the boniest parts of the face such as the cheekbones and chin.

At least remove the paint from his ears. That seems rather unnecessary. I imagine it would feel somewhat uncomfortable too.

Better? I didn't want to make the whole big block glow because that would make it look like the light isn't reflecting off it, but rather coming from it.
