So, I've finally decided to give modelling/texturing a chance. It's my first go at both using Blender and texturing anything: It has team textures (but they don't show up for some reason), and it was originally going to be around the Pyro's arm on a strap, but that just turned out as a big no-no. But I've got a problem: As soon as I change the stance, it goes everywhere, starts flying, disconnects itself, etc. Do I need to do something to it to make it stay in one place in all stances? Any help will be appreciated :3
Try rigging it to bip_pelvis, if that's not how it is right now. [sp]as much as I hate it for referencing the pyro as a lady[/sp]
It's been on a number of bones, bip_arm_R to start with, then bip_hip_L, and now it's on bip_head, but rigging? Is that the same as placing it in Blender, parenting it then changing it in the .QC? Sorry, I'm new to this ._.' [sp]and it doesn't have to be a lady to wear a purse :3[/sp]

Alright. Tempted to just make this a normal bandage, as I can't put more on the Spy without clipping every single thing. It throws my idea for a mummy spy set out though. So it's up to you to decide. Agree for bandage, disagree for mummy.
If animations are not possible, how about mild jigglebones? I mean, to make the Spy look more alive. I know he is disguised and shouldn't look alive, but still.
Jiggle bones ruin anything I've ever put them on. ;o; I suck at them terribly.
Heavy's left hand on Spy's left arm, Heavy's right hand on Spy's left thigh?
I'd have to alter the Heavy's minigun animation for that, and then it'd ruin his animation for holding any other gun.
Just a heads up for whoever's making team colored minigun replacements: that's impossible. None of the miniguns are team colored in TF2, because the default minigun model's second skin is Natascha. For every other minigun, only the first skin is used. It would be possible to make it team colored by modifying items_game.txt and forcing the skin using visuals_red and visuals_blu, but that wouldn't work online at all.
Is this really true? :O I thought it'd be possible to make anything team colored. I mean, I made a team colored Spyswatter (wrench replacement), but that's no minigun.
"models\player\spy\spy_head_red.vmt" should be "spy_head_red", and do that for all of them.
That didn't work. :C So I guess the whole "minigun can't be team colored" is true. OH THIS IS SAD DAY.
How about waterlogged labcoat?
Would be cool i guess. [sp]I always forgot we have the new paint cans[/sp]
Just askin, but have you tried to make it a whole head replacement instead of a hat? It could solve your clipping issues.
No because that would require so much stuff that is out of my league :<
Sascha, have you lost weight? What's that? Kill engineer? But engineer is credit to team! Almost done, "team" colors aren't working, and I think I might raise him a bit higher, so that the heavy holds his shoulder and hand in butt cause there's no other place lol. I'm going to mod some spy sounds to fit as him making gun sounds (when I'm done fiddling with everything else). Like have "Zis is getting awkward" as the firing sound so it's a constant ZIZIZIZIZIZIZIZIZIZI sound and when it stops firing "zis is getting awkward" lol. Haven't tested first person yet lol.
This thing, is the BEST thing. Should be spy going "BANGBANGBANGBANG" in a really forced way
Just a quick question I had an idea for a TF2 weapon for the sniper recently, so I'm about to go about making it in blender. The only problem I have is that I don't know how to properly 'rig' it so that it would match up with the sniper's hands when he is holding the gun. Should I just use the base TF2 sniper rifle and build off of that, or is there another way to ensure that it matches up correctly? I can't seem to find a tutorial for this. Hats, yes, but not for weapons. Thanks!

feeling pretty pleased right now. despite my country being crappy, the copper hat still earned quite nicely. Thanks valve.

I would probably have spent days trying to get team coloring to work.
