But its so fucking ugly....
I dont even understand how you would hold the thing, or even reach the trigger area
Well, if you don't like it, why not ask someone here? You'll be guaranteed to [sp]not[/sp] get help.
I never said I didn't like the result. I just didn't like his method :v:
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32006613/Models/cocktail_6.png[/thumb] A guy who wanted this released said he knew someone who would texture this. Being the lousy texturer that I am, I accepted his help. So guess what he does. He finds a picture of a lime, overlays it onto the texture, and colors over the edges. I could have done that...
Thing is, something with so little actual solid colors on it is going to be hard to "texture."
Why do people like this hideous concept so much?
TURBOSMOOTH EVERYTHING. Jesus christ. I understand high-poly modeling isn't about keeping polies low, but how many iterations did he use for such basic shapes? That's wasteful. If you're gonna keep it high poly at least add more detail. And why would you need his help in the first place ? His model is useless. Optimizing that would take days.
The metal clasp near the end (right) that connects the barrels looks odd, or shaped weird. Also the trigger guard looks oblonged, as well as the trigger being too simple. Compare your trigger area to that of the valve shotgun and you will see what I mean.
I tried going for a more square guard, is this better?
Thing is, something with so little actual solid colors on it is going to be hard to "texture."
Yeah I'm pretty much keeping the glass and the liquid just one solid color but the lime needed a texture. Ended up getting a picture of a lime on it. Speaking of which: Put a lemon on red team and a lime on blue (Agree) or lime on both (Disagree)? I'm going to team color the liquid anyway

If possible, little to nothing should be a simple solid color, or it very quickly becomes bland and boring in comparison to the other, much more busy items.
The jarate glass doesn't have any brushstrokes, he should just use a more believable vmt for the glass.
A pink lemon, perhaps?
The jarate glass doesn't have any brushstrokes, he should just use a more believable vmt for the glass.
Copy the jarate vmt.
re-posting in hopes someone make parts of the skeleton dance for the Schadenfreude
How about the scarecrow dance from this? Mine is octagonal all the way around. As for the triggers, they usually never taper off but end in a square or semi circle like the original.

There is a lot of unneeded detail for such a small piece, especially the chamfers on the trigger. Plus it looks a bit blocky.

Who knew Jigglebones had a QC option for "is_tornado"

So I just found out that the .vmt that I gave to Valve for the teddy didn't utilise the phong mask I gave it. I originally had it so the fur wasn't as shiny as his clothes/helmet. Should I tell them?

worth a shot mentioning it to them there isn't really anything to lose
Did any of you guys experiment with v_models on blender? Because i tried a simple model edit without breaking anything on the smg's v_model and the animations were broken ._. and when i recompiled the original file the model was at the wrong place so you couldnt see it
no offense but...I don't like that dragon skin. dont hurt me
It may not look the best, but he did a lot and it's pretty damn impressive.
