I personaly don't think they are too illuminated : it's like a furnace, which fit the Pyro very well...
But, IMO, the muzzle looks a bit strange... Also, do you plan to add things on the buttons ?

yeah the muzzle still needs finalizing. Im not happy with it either. And yes that is meant to be a cockpit console on there so the buttons will be finished and gauges detailed.

Best example I could find [url=http://imgur.com/AYaYE]here[/url] (Might not be an image everyone would like to see, unsure) - it's a scarred eye tissue that covers the cornea, thick, white and murky looking. Cool to know that you were considering the scar, hope this example does the trick.
Edit: Upon looking at your images again I can't quite tell if that's what you've done in the texture so far or if that's lighting, if it is what you're doing then sorry for wasting your time!
