What I don't understand is why you guys told me to make it shorter and then tell me to make it longer than it was before.
Sometimes it's good to deviate a little from the concept if it makes the model look good. Just sayin'. Hell, I never follow my own drawn concepts completely since they're terrible.

It could stand to be a little longer, with the stock getting some more meat, and the barrel getting a little longer. All in all it depends how it fits into the character's hands, but there's more than one facet to the design to consider.
Not to interupt on the concept stuff, but some modelers have this unique ability to change a few lose screws in a concept and make it better, Spark, Sexy and Von have done this before and I look back at the original and see were those lose ends were. If it wasn't for concepts some video game characters would look nothing how they look today, just take a look at the old TF2 weapon concepts and look at how they are now. I'm not saying I'm super important but concepts are the back bone of society which helps out the rest work out well in the end.

Sparkwire's editing there is a perfect canvas for the details to be added, because it's in correct proportion, unlike yours.
(Ahem,a friend linked me to this and I felt like being helpful,or not.Anyways.)Eeshton.What people are telling you is that the concept is pretty much the Winchester 1897, with a few modifications to make it fit with packs(and tf2)style.Plus,to make it a bit more intresting. The bolt/shell ejector is.Tiny.Make a shell as big as your barrel,then try to move it out of the ejector in model viewer,you will see it doesnt.The gun just goes poof in your hands.The proportions overall would not fit TF2.Model it with knowleadge of how it may look in a hands of class you are making it for.
