Give him one of those bad teenage mustaches. Like a failed attempt at growing a beard.
does scout have a hat that doesn't fall off when he dies

would be better if the front had an eye like the Googly Gazer. (non-robot)

Or maybe a robot Googly Gazer that was poorly painted to look like the non-robot eye.

Imagine what the next stages would look like...
Give the level 3 sentry some frankenstein bolts.
And loadsa' loose cables.
Anyone knows how to fix Spy eyes?

In the interests of finishing the carbine before I get bored of it, I stopped tweaking the damned heatshield and UV'd the thing:

I undid the longer barrel/less chunky parts of the body suggested earlier because they don't really fit the idea of the gun - which is to be a chunky short m4 type thing.

is it me or does that seem to be a bit too comical.
It looks like something that'll fit worms better then TF2

It bugs me to see red on a blu player, so maybe correct team colors? Also, the colors should be lightened, as somebody already pointed out.
Yeah man, and BLU should have blue blood and blue fire axes and blue fire. It also really ruins the harmony of most maps when RED team has blue water in their areas, they should have something like lava!
Oh and not to forget the sky! The sky should be red when on RED's area!
Don't go all reductio ad absurdum on me. I just want to be able to tell whether on not to shoot at someone when I see them.
[editline]pancakes[/editline]
And it may look too small to factor into team identification, but it's surprising how easily details can throw you off.

Why would you want to shoot the gnome? :\
It won't mess with your mind to shoot or not to shoot, he's BLU engineer with small red-hat gnome in his pocket.

Baboo is right
Maybe invert the hat and trousers on the Blu gnome so only his tiny red body is left
Anyone know how to make a hat remove sniper's normal hat and glasses? Which hat should i decompile?

It bugs me to see red on a blu player, so maybe correct team colors? Also, the colors should be lightened, as somebody already pointed out.
I agree, the gnome should have maybe a light cyan hat or so on blu and have a red shirt the same color as the hat on red. Or maybe even team colored yellow somewhere.
[editline]14th August 2011[/editline]

This requires bodygroups, but no bodygroup that removes the glasses exists. To remove the hat the second bodygroup must be enabled.
Anyone know how to make a hat remove sniper's normal hat and glasses? Which hat should i decompile?
There are no hats which do this. The fastest way would be to nodraw the glasses.
Alright, now instruct me on how to do that.
In layman's terms.
Or something simpler than those.

I wouldn't prefer the model in general.
It looks forced to fit the sniper's animations rather then having it look like the sniper's animations were made for it.
well, thanks for that golden feedback...
edit:
Wait, I photoshopped the stock off a REAL carbine. The proportions are basically the same, minus the super long barrel:

Well by the lack of comments I can assume the majority are in agreement with Pie. I'll just finish it for development then.

I'm sure one or two people out there would like it, but my opinion is it just doesn't seem to go well with TF2.
Been messing with some ideas for the Gauss Gun. I'm kinda basing if of the Tau Cannon from HL in some way. Not really sure about it at the moment and I haven't thought about what to do with the ammo storage part yet. Still, I'll see where it goes.

TBH, I think it looks alright considering that you have to make it fit the SMG proportions. See how it looks ingame. I had to make similar decisions with the Sten Gun I made such as making the stock shorter and changing the clip to be on the bottom. My only qualm is the hand grip but I know there's not a lot you can do. Maybe making the top bit the same thickness as the bottom would help.
