• What would be considered "good" at TF2?

Not being a dick, and being a valuable teammate. Who doesn't go around spraying furry porn. Or ponies.
If you get a bigger K/D ratio as a scout.
In a public game? If you're helping your team. This means: Pushing for those damn points/bomb carts/flags. Being respectful of class balance. You may be an excellent spy, but if you already have three, that's too much. Actually helping other players out. Extinguishing fires, guarding sentries, warning others about spies and snipers. Defending medics. Period. Leaving healthpacks for that class on fire, or a medic low on health. And finally: hunting down every dirty rotten scumbag hides-in-spawn/cowers-behind-team SNIPER you see with righteous passion and furious anger. Competitive on the other hand? Defend Medic. Kill people. Capture Points. Which is way harder than it sounds. Top notch competitive (non-medic) players will literally have a medic inside their anal cavity and can predict every single projectile arch (including yourself, when propelled by an explosive), with near perfect accuracy. And once your airborne, they just find it easier.
Not being a dick, and being a valuable teammate. Who doesn't go around spraying furry porn. Or ponies.
One thing I've never understood. A pony spray in a furry server is usually met with: "Cute, adorable, 'hurr i luv ponies' and occasional 'God-damn Ponyfags' " A furry spray in a pony server is usually met with: "Ugh fucking -furfag- subhuman scum. They're such fucking sexual freaks." (Which is odd, because there's usually porn of a drawn, non-anthropomorphic [actual animal] colts [non-adult horses] on those same servers.)
Give your medic your SANDVICH [release]
YOU FAT FUCK
[/release]
Most of the time I throw it for quick health boost / douse the pyro flames. But I do attempt to throw the sandvich straight to medic's face without him having to go look for it, useful in narrow spaces just turn around and throw the sandvich at your medics face.
Last but not least, do you receive angry messages/praise specifically aimed at you? Are people calling you OP? Do they swear to kill, maim and destroy everything you hold close and dear because of that Kritzcharge?
oh man when I had a pocket medic as a soldier and the entire enemy team was dying to stop me, they had engineers coming in specifically to make sentries to slow me down and I killed about 4 spies with the disciplinary action, eventually the rest of my team got through the other way around and then I got called a hacker, felt great
Is it useful to extinguish the Heavy using my Milk when I play my Scattergun/MadMilk/CandyCane loadout? EDIT: Or, you know, my whole fucking team after we just fended off a Pyro rush?

I'm sure having an extra teammate or 2 alive is better than leeching somebody's health for a little while.
Getting a sunbeams unusual for each class and sell them to get lods of emone.
Having fun.
Scout: Capture the points/intelligence Soldier: Kill people all while capturing/defending points, assist in destroying buildings Pyro: Be a pybro, use the Homewrecker to help your engies, and extinguish teammates Demoman: Destroy Engineer buildings/nests, gib people Heavy: Stay back and help keep a strong defense, and throw the medic your FUCKING SANDVICH Engineers: Build sentries to defend key points, build dispensers to help keep your team healed and supplied. Medic: Heal EVERYONE, not just the Heavies, and Uber the classes most needed for your offensive push, or final stand. Sniper: Take out high-value targets on the enemy team, namely medics, heavies, and anyone who poses a threat to your team. Spy: Destroy engineer buildings, keep them from building more, and backstab high-value targets when possible. Just some of the basics I've thought of.
killing people
organic human aimbotter
You mean Kassi?
Woah, i can actually be a good spy and help out my team. The spy is WAY more powerfull than you think.
Yeah but having more than 1 spy is useless.
2 spies, if coordinated, can wreck serious havok. 2 Medics make more for the team, however.
killing people
this is soldier and sniper strategy.
Mainly helping you team by doing things like -Not caring about your own best but for your whole teams best -Going for the capture points and pushing the kart -"Waste" your jarate and milk on burning friends as well as airblasting them -And just trying to help your team in general
Does your team win often with your help? Yes? You are considered "good". No? Change to a class that isn't Sniper or Spy.
Snipers and Spies can help the team if they know what they're doing.
airshots airshots airshots
Also I definitely think Pyro isn't a worthless cunt. If you uber a pyro who knows what the fuck he's doing a cap will be clean in seconds, or that shitty sentry nest is gone. I seriously fear a ubered Pyro, luckily that isn't happening often. Also I'm pretty decent at Soldier (as in, I can actually kill, defend and attack effectively), but I still don't know how to launch an enemy using rockets, let alone airshots. I just tend to predict where my enemy will land IF I can get him flying. I'm not bad at that. Also I seem to be pretty capable of landing direct 'nades as a Demo even in the most awkward situations.
If you want to be "good" Engineer then drop your teleporter entrance the moment you spawn not midway through a battle.
If you want to be "good" Engineer then drop your teleporter entrance the moment you spawn not midway through a battle.
If you want to be "good" Gunslinger engi, then upgrade the other Engineer's teleporter straight to lvl3 at match preparation time, then hurry up and help him manage the sentrygun.
2 spies, if coordinated, can wreck serious havok. 2 Medics make more for the team, however.
Holy shit this I've worked with another good Spy before and not only is it a blast we can also demolish any defense, like when one of us distracts an engie and the other backstabs him. The problem of course is finding good spies
Is it useful to extinguish the Heavy using my Milk when I play my Scattergun/MadMilk/CandyCane loadout? EDIT: Or, you know, my whole fucking team after we just fended off a Pyro rush?
No, it's actually a total waste, considering all the other ways to extinguish fire that aren't limited to one use every ~20 seconds and how powerful the effects of mad milk/jarate are. I'd make an exception if it was to save a Medic's life, though. [editline]12th October 2011[/editline] Also candy cane sucks, don't use it
How can one be good as Pyro? I would say by use of the flare gun... that would help...
Having the most fun loadout for yourself. Don't worry about capping points, getting kills, assists, or destructions. It's about if you're having fun or not. I usually go out as battle engie with a shotgun only. I do terribly, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.
How can one be good as Pyro? I would say by use of the flare gun... that would help...
Shotgun is still the best secondary in my opinion, though others will disagree In other words you can't really say "if you're better you use this" when a good player can use either one
Shotgun is still the best secondary in my opinion, though others will disagree In other words you can't really say "if you're better you use this" when a good player can use either one
Playing flare gun is alright as long as you don't run into someone with proper depth perception/another pyro. Seriously, the flare gun is just way too predictable. The detonator in that sense feels like a direct upgrade to it, and even then it's not worth getting rid of your shotgun.

Flaregun = Shotgun > detonator
2 spies, if coordinated, can wreck serious havok. 2 Medics make more for the team, however.
Two god anythings can wreck a game. Dual scouts will take anything sans a Heavy within a second (The Heavy will take two), two Soldiers that fire coordinated rockets will not give anything time to react, a pair of Heavies can watch each other's backs and heal one another easily while still not being vulnerable, etc.
