The server I play on gives donators end-round immunity. You'd think that most players wouldn't get upset but nope, there is always rage. Sure most people will say "so long as it's not game breaking I don't mind" but what they are REALLY saying is "I will piss and moan regardless".

People complaining about humiliation immunity are retards anyway. It's just something for a small bit of fun to show the enemy who is boss. Just because some people can't be killed in such a pointless time is no reason to freak the fuck out.
Then again, Tf2 community.
I can still humiliate someone even if I cant kill them. I'll throw some jarate on them. Get my team to box them in, etc.

The donators at the 3 servers (One VSH [but the stuff don't work there], one achievement, one trading) I'm admin on get:
Fake community sparkles on 119/duel medals to show that they have donated.
Speed boosts on all classes to be Scout speed
Weapons they can give to themselves if they know the weapon ID. ie. Scout with Golden Wrench.
And if they're trusted enough, basic admin commands like kick and ban.
Of course, it doesn't really matter because it's an achievement server and trade server.
On our servers we do it simple
there is an ingame menu which we tell them to bind to a key (!don)
in the menu it has
An optional donator icon above their head, choose from over 50 odd at last count i think (its only visible during set up phase and round end).
Allow them to change their text colour
A personal message to the server population prior to them joining
They also gain donator status on our forums should they have an account
No game breaking bonuses, no reserved slots (even us admins don't have one).
We don't offer admin to anyone, because we have another reward system in place that grants admin to our fanbase on one of our servers.
From my experience and my own feelings, if ive been playing on a server and i get randomly kicked for some other player then i won't rejoin, the only time it's not annoying is when it's an admin who's taken my place to sort something out in person.
The one thing that puts me off a server completely is when you're a non donor and try to join the server and as soon as you join it says "A premium member has taken your slot. DONATE NOW!!!!"
Pretty much what I see as good rewards for donating is immune from auto-balance, free hat colouring, a coloured name... list could go on a while.
A warm fuzzy feeling, thats what they get. They also get a TF2 server.
People shouldnt donate for rewards, Please tell me you didnt tell them they would get rewards for doing so.
