My friend gave me some of his dupes that were released between Australian Christmas and now for no cost. He even gave me one of the set hats (as much as I dislike set bonuses, but I like to collect one of everything that affects gameplay). Now all of the items he gave me are on the "to be dropped" list, the items from promos that I should have gotten in the past year still are not on that list, and the shovel he gave me decided to jump right into my backpack v:v:v

I'm new to TF2 and was just wondering, is this whole trading thing any good for people who don't want to buy hats in the first place, like can we get items that people would trade for games at all? Or do you have to buy hats and shit to trade for games.

However, lots of people are stubborn and will only trade for items that cannot be obtained by new players like the early promotional items. If you can find a sane person to trade with, it's a great asset to have; not only does it make it easier to obtain items that actually impact the game, you can also find things to customize your classes. It's really up to you and your trading partner what will be traded for what. Just don't cave to ridiculous demands from greedy people and your sanity will stay in-tact.

If you get lucky and get a Teddy Roosebelt or Blighted Beak, or manage to craft a numbered hat, you're starting to talk money.
