You guys have to think pretty much all the updates have changed the playing style of the class, they'd most likely do it with engi as well. Not a level 3 SG upgrade or something boring like that but maybe the ability to attach a little tiny SG or something to a teammate to boost their damage a little and give the engi assists. I know that's a retarded idea but it changes his playstyle, let's think outside the box not stupid shit like "CAN ERECT SGS FASTER BUT USES MORE METAL" and shit.

He would have metal like you, but it would work the way a dispenser works and would repair things at a similar rate. He can fix stuff, upgrade stuff, remove sappers, and damage people if they're stupid enough to stand in front of him. You can also upgrade him for faster repairs, more health, etc.

2-way teleporters
I suggest a backpack/saddlebag. The Engineer can hold up to 350 metal with it equipped, but if he dies, he drops a medium healthkit shaped like a canteen for either an enemy or ally to pick up. This means he can build more stuff without having to go back to an ammo cache or resupply locker, but he also accidentally can aid the enemy if the killer(s) can reach his canteen.
Level 4 sentry that detects stickies/projectiles in air and shoots them in a fair amount of range.
What I'd like to see isn't an unlock, but a change. Personally, I think the sentry could use a small upgrade. Downsize a level 1's range, keep a level 2's range at normal, and then increase the level 3's. Not so much that it unbalances them, but to give a bit more reason to upgrade or something. I don't play engi much, though, so this could be a horrible idea.
I'm thinking level one could go from edge of 2fort battlement to 3/4 of the way across the bridge, level two stays roughly battlement edge to the end of the bridge, and level 3 could go from the edge of the battlement to the other edge of the battlement (so you're not raped coming out of battlements and have a fighting chance).
I [b]SO TOTALLY[/b] want the wrench that's being tested in the beta, if it also lowers the build costs by about 25% so you can build a sentry and teleporter with just 200 metal.
oh yeah and 2-way teleporters. not unlock, just default making exits useable as entrances, with different charge times for either side.
