stabby's fantastic and I while I'd consider his vids informative, impressive, and downright fun to watch, I don't know if I'd call them tutorials they're worth a watch though, and so is this guy http://www.youtube.com/user/tf2gentleman
He got too srs biz around the Polycount update and doing voiceovers.
Sentry nests Massive knockback means ubers are practically worthless Put a sapper in while the medic and uber friends charge in Massive pushing power ho
What about quickfix?
any good spy knows when to switch from spy to a more robust class.
Spy is only as good as the enemy team is bad, but it's still a very powerful class regardless. It's most definitely not pointless, it just can be countered by skill much easier than if you were, say, a soldier blasting around randomly.
When I see a Spy, its either a F2P who has no clue what he's doing, or it's a Ambassador only Spy.
When I see a Spy, its either a F2P who has no clue what he's doing, or it's a Ambassador only Spy.
Then you've never played with me :smug:
When I see a Spy, its either a F2P who has no clue what he's doing, or it's a Ambassador only Spy.
That's because the good spy is never seen! :v:
That's because the good spy is never seen! :v:
Or being harrassed by a Pyro. Either way, You have a point.
I have stabby on my friends list, he's a admin on the server i play on. He is fucking crazy. I try countering his stair stabs, never works. He's also way too good at the ambassador.
IP?
Top notch clan, too many to name. It's on the steam group's profile. We play on bw/gr.
Top notch clan, too many to name. It's on the steam group's profile. We play on bw/gr.
IMO one of the many annoying servers. "WELCOME TO A TOP NOTCH CLAN SERVER DON'T DISAPOINT ME"
IMO one of the many annoying servers. "WELCOME TO A TOP NOTCH CLAN SERVER DON'T DISAPOINT ME"
Jesus christ, iirc it's on their motd, disable motd's, no more voice message. I don't mind it anyways. They got great regulars and competent players too, although sometimes it gets really stacked.
Spies are the reason I always avoid stairs on TF2 if I can.
The spy is not a pointless class at all. It is great to be a spy to kill a Heavy and a Medic, for example, or kill incoming enemies quickly. Sure, fighting a pyro might not be good, but you can kill a pyro as a spy if you stay away from the flamethrower range and just shoot him. Works for me. If that fails, the dead ringer is a good equipment.
I try my best to take out heavies, yes I know that Medics are usually the more important target but a Heavyless Medic is less dangerous than a Medicless Heavy.
I try my best to take out heavies, yes I know that Medics are usually the more important target but a Heavyless Medic is less dangerous than a Medicless Heavy.
It's all based on situation. Sometimes it's better to eliminate the enemy team's source of healing for the duration of respawn, it's not wise to let a fully charged medic escape only to return with an ubered buddy. You've got to evaluate things on a case by case basis to know the most beneficial course of action.
imo spy is the greatest class. you can kill any class if you can play as spy. Scouts or pyros aren't a problem for me. just lure them or something. you can capture the intel easily too. also capturing points are easy too. also you can take sentries. you can take down everything
It's also the class that is the most different from other class based FPSs.
That's exactly the reason I play spy. Sure every FPS has it's share of the heavy classes, scouting classes and support classes, but never a class based on deception, quick handiwork and inducing paranoia. It's like being Houdini with a knife in a battlefield.
Spy is pretty much my best class, I perform better with him than any other class. I don't know why people get the crazy idea that Spies are a waste of a class when they're an essential part of jeopardizing the enemy team. A GOOD Spy can get away with a lot of shit without being detected, and if done swiftly enough, can break down the enemy defenses easily. They're the essential backbone of terrorizing the enemy from within, making it easier for outer forces to barge in and take over with little resistance.
I don't know why people get the crazy idea that Spies are a waste of a class when they're an essential part of jeopardizing the enemy team.
Because they don't know how to play as spy?
You have to realize, when someone is in combat (ex: A heavy/medic fighting another heavy/medic) Their first priority isn't to think about spies (unless they are super nerds and can do it all) So thats what spies are good for, helping the team like that. Also even if a spy can disable a sentry for 3 seconds, it give a chance for a demoman to take advantage of that, and wipe it out. Spy isn't a solo do-it-yourself class, it requires teamwork to sucessfully master it.
Well I live by the motto "any class can take down any class".
One time I took down a Heavy as a Medic with just the Amputator. Felt splendid.
One time I took down a Heavy as a Medic with just the Amputator. Felt splendid.
I can't count the times I've kicked someone's ass with just a bust of Hippocrates. Great fun, doing no harm.
He has a point. There's a reason we rarely see Spies in competitive play. Remember the Pubs vs Pros tournament? OMFGninja was on the Pubs side. His best play across all of the games was backstabbing their Medic and immediately attempting to shoot down a Soldier. The Pros recovered quickly. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] Though the Spy is hella fun in normal play. It's my third most played class.
It doesn't help that omfgninja is pretty average at best. ispyy did a much better job at showing how well a spy can do against a 6man team in a pubs vs pros challenge by rocking some serious face on badwater. This was the pubs vs pros sometime in june 2010 iirc. It was a good one.
I think op just wants to be a one man team in a team based game

I'm not a ninja fanboy but I recall one soldier spamming rockets about eight feet behind the team more or less nonstop, not to mention the scouts were actually paying attention.
wait a second spy uses a knife knives are pointy I would argue the spy has the most points out of any class.
