I think the new Welding mask is pretty okay, and I would not have liked it if it was over his face at all times as this would make the Engineer less interesting to look at.
It is an awesome feature that it is only down when he is building.
I will however say that the texture sucks balls.
Among the new hats my favourite hat is probably the Sniper hat as it is in my opinion, fitting his rugged hunter style and is in general a lot more interesting than his other hats.
Second best I like the Magistrate's Mullet, as I find it a funny and fitting Spy's gentleman-ish character.

I only had to craft my Bonk Helm with the one Camera Beard I had... the old hats mean absolutely nothing to me now.
Ima save it for trading.
