I noticed that TF2Items allowed me to put up my [b]untradable[/b] Community Wiki Cap and so I did and selected all hats as accepted returns. I was ROLLING in friend requests and got to make a few people mad. Fun night. A [i]lot[/i] of people seem to think a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops is a good exchange for it. :v:

Amazing how few people can read (since it says "not tradable" right in the cap's descrip).

I did send a suggestion through via the form you provided. But I am seeing a increasing number of trades for real games showing up. This voids the Steam User Agreement and can/ will get both parties banned in a trade. I'm all for natural selection to weed out the idiots, but do you not think it is a good idea to put a stop to that kind of trade to avoid people trying to pin it on your site?

I'm not so sure. Yes, it is against the user agreement, but Valve's current stance is "We don't want you to do this, but if you do and get scammed, we're not going to help you." Plus I've got a backlog of stuff to get people banned for.

Now that I think about it more, I'll probably just close any trades like that without giving probations and add a note about it to the rules. Until Valve starts punishing people for it, I don't think I will unless it gets out of hand. (Anyone else have any suggestions on what to do here?)

Closing the trade with a warning seems fair for first time offenders, yeah. Valve have punished a few people over it I think, but not enough to make any real impact. It's like the guys who buy hats for real money from people on eBay, etc. They tend to be punished too.
