I'm able to test it just fine... Anyway, here's the post about it I made on SUF
You should send that to one of your Valve friends. Shit, there are a few people here with Valve employees on their friends list and are pretty much guaranteed a response. Why don't you guys send them feedback like this directly? I'm not joking, I'm serious. They don't read the feedback forum and we've got people here that have contacts at Valve. Why don't we send stuff like this to them? Send them something practical instead of bugging Robin about the Gang's Garrison.
I'm able to test it just fine... Anyway, here's the post about it I made on SUF What Tomislav needs to become is like a very streamlined, reverse-brass beast. +50% faster spin-up speed Silent Killer: Blah blah no-one cares 20% slower firing speed -25% damage penalty +25% bullet spread penalty +15% speed while reved.
I disagree. I made a post on SPUF about how it should be rebalanced instead.
New Tomislav +55% Refire Rate +40% Faster, Silent Spin Up -45% Damage -25% Bullets per Ammo Used (Shoots 3 Bullets per Ammo instead of 4) 1.55 Refire * 0.55 Damage * .75 Bullets = ~.64 or 64% as powerful as the standard Minigun. The old Tomislav was 80% as powerful as the standard Minigun (0.8 Refire * 1 Damage * 1 Bullets = .8 or 80%). The effective nerf is as follows. The new Tomislav is ~20% weaker than the older Tomislav. It's also much more reliant on ammo pickups than the older Tomislav. As a bonus it's actually quite a bit worse choice to use with Kritzcharge because of the low base damage. (Critical hits do 300% of base damage, 3 * .55 is pretty pathetic.) New Family Business +40% Clip Size +50% Reduced Weapon Spread +20% Refire Rate +20% Reload Speed -35% Damage The reduced weapon spread makes this a more powerful alternative to the Shotgun when trying to shoot at enemies at medium range. The Family Business is an 8 clip, 40 base damage shotgun (8 * 40 = 320) as compared to the standard shotgun with is a 6 clip, 60 base damage shotgun (6 * 60 = 360). As a result, the New Family Business is always a worse choice than the standard Shotgun if all pellets hit (typically in short range). The New Family Business will have an edge over the standard Shotgun in medium ranges, where only 2 or 3 of the Shotguns pellets may hit, but 4 - 6 or the New Family Business's pellets may hit. New Eviction Notice +15% Damage Bonus +15% Refire Rate +25% Extra Health from packs on Wearer -50% Health from Healers on Wearer -20 Health The new Eviction Notice works completely different to the old Eviction Notice. The new Eviction Notice is designed to be used with Sandvich / Steak users. Heavies will heal 175 HP when picking up their dropped Sandvich / Steak (280 HP * .5 Health * 1.25 Multiplier = 175 HP on pickup), but they'll also be much worse Medic targets. It's basically a Back Scratcher Lite for the Heavy.
I like that one also, but the only problem I see is that the sound effect is geared for the slower firing rate Wider bullet spread is an idea that seems to be popping around on SUF a lot. I actually like that idea a lot because it makes sense as a Tommy gun, while at the same time encourages Heavy to stay close to the enemy.
Anyone have an idea of how long until the update goes official?
Anyone have an idea of how long until the update goes official?
Probably a few months.
I like that one also, but the only problem I see is that the sound effect is geared for the slower firing rate Wider bullet spread is an idea that seems to be popping around on SUF a lot. Part of the reason I think it should have a high refire rate is because Heavy is making a large trade off for mobility. The Tomislav is NOT a 'stealth' weapon and Heavy is not a class meant for strafing or stealth at all. He has the largest HP in the game and one of the largest, if not the largest, damage outputs in the game. Health nerfs, in my opinion, should be taboo in TF2. When you try to touch a class's HP in a negative way, the weapon almost always turns sour. Health nerfs should only make sense if you get a health buff in another big way. (ex: the New Eviction Notice I posted. You gain 175 HP instead of 150 HP from your sandviches, but you're generally a worse Medic target due to slightly lower HP and health gain) Which is why I completely oppose the -50 HP penalty Valve wants to add to Heavy. Offense is a mixed bag between direct damage output and speed. Speed means a LOT of various things, from refire speed, movement speed, reload speed, weapon switch speed, etc. What Tomislav should do is trade one kind of offense for a different kind of offense. He should trade direct damage for the mobility to actually keep up with the moving battlefield. (In the opposite sense that Brass Beast took away Heavy's mobility for direct damage.) And because Heavy is mobile, he should be much more reliant on ammo pickups. Refire rate has its own hidden 'nerf' in that you deplete ammo much more quickly. This is a skill based nerf that good Heavies should be able to mitigate by always walking over dropped weapons and ammo pickups. Crappy Heavies will constantly find themselves unwilling to use the New Tomislav due to lack of ammo and its reduced damage. Skilled Heavies (Does that really exist? W + M1 with skill?) will only be presented with the actual loss of ~20% weaker Tomislav, but still maintain the mobility they want. The shittiness with the Kritzkrieg came as a bonus. As you should know, Heavies are typically very good Kritz targets because their primary weapon is hitscan and suffers no damage falloff. The large damage nerf makes even Kritz Tomislav somewhat disappointing. If the -25% Bullets property isn't possible, then having +25% Weapon Spread would be fine, too.
I think that the Tomislav needs a much lesser Health nerf, instead taking the Weapon Spread aswell as a small Health nerf.
Probably a few months.
Oh man I hope not. Why would it be that long?
They haven't had a content update this month, so it will MOST LIKELY be next week, on the 30th. The Mann-Conomy Anniversary.
Hopefully the add the other styles aswell. Although I wonder why they released the luchadore styles seperately.
Or you know on Halloween
Or you know on Halloween
I doubt it, wouldn't they do something more halloween focused on halloween?
I doubt it, wouldn't they do something more halloween focused on halloween?
Look what they did with christmas. They didn't even have a christmas related map instead we get unrelated medieval crap.
I don't think I am going to download beta just for this, will wait for it to come to the main game which is probably really soon.
Look what they did with christmas. They didn't even have a christmas related map instead we get unrelated medieval crap.
True, but last year they added a bunch of Halloween hats/items, so it's more likely they'd do something like that again this year. (optimistic)
Hope this comes to the main game soon. Got myself a facade before people decide to jack up its price.
Look what they did with christmas. They didn't even have a christmas related map instead we get unrelated medieval crap.
Yeah, but that's Christmas. TF2 has had a two-year running love for Halloween, and modders have actually taken note of that to the point where they essentially submit a couple updates worth of spooky stuff just for the occasion. If Halloween doesn't get a meaty Halloween update, then it may truly be a sign of the endtimes.
90 per shot you could do just by shooting at them point blank with the shotgun. If you were in range to airblast them, you were in range to do a 90 damage meat shot.
This gun has potential to puff and sting. Basically you set them on fire, airblast, you can do about 110 damage with a well aimed shot which is pretty much insta kill on 125 hp classes. I expect this would work with an FaN style weapon. Two quick double shots that minicrit on airbourne targets.

Wasn't that Ceiling Man?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the RS on Pyro, but it just doesn't seem to be the absolute combo monster I had hoped it would turn Pyro into. I found myself only using the puff and sting with it when against Pyros. It actually works really well when fighting other Pyros.

I wouldn't know because, well, I don't have one to test.
I wouldn't know because, well, I don't have one to test.
Just join a busy server. New F2P people who just got the beta are giving gifts out like crazy. I got like 20 items today just by playing in a server and collecting gifts. I managed to craft the Reserve Shooter and Widowmaker and find a Tomislav.

Every 5 minutes you'd hear the clapping, everytime I entered a server, cheering and clapping, it was insane. Must've gotten hundreds of items from it
Exactly it would be an awesome replacement for the axetinguisher for when you want to role another melee. I think my idea of having two quick shots would be perfect. Rewards skill and combos completely.

Must've gotten hundreds of items from it
all the new players from the MannConomy update just started playing the beta for the first time. It's like Christmas morning all over again!
Now I'll be able to wear my Pocket Medic and Summer Shades at the same time! I'm totally looking forward to this.
Source?
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1118190? Somewhere in this thread if I recall correctly. Nevermind, I guess he just said separately that there would be a halloween update and regular content updates; I got the two mixed up.
