and thanks to lag compensation he can shoot through corners.
And line of sight and lag compensation are applied to every hitscan weapon. So it's not a heavy-exclusive downside (although his slow speed when firing his weapon emphasizes how reliant he is on line-of-sight in order to deal damage since he can lose line of sight easily because he can't chase after people.)
Heavy, in its current state, is easy to play well as. Pyro, in its current state, is difficult to play well as. I would definitely like to see the bar on these two classes brought back toward the middle of the line: buff Pyro and nerf Heavy, very slowly, until we hear a few less yells about balance.
I find it funny that someone spent so much time typing these posts just to prove a point that's flawed since the beginning. If real "pros" use stickywhoring all the time, what's the point of nerfing the grenade launcher? How many times have you been killed with the grenade launcher? If anything, the sticky launcher out of all two weapons should be nerfed, but that's out of the question because Demoman is actually perfectly fine as he is. Also your arguments are pathetic, quit it.
Okay, so what are his weaknesses? Each of them has been mitigated starting with the Sandvich being given the alt-fire, then followed by the 118th update messing with his spinup speed, Gloves of Running Urgently, Fists of Steel, Buffalo Steak Sandvich getting the same alt-fire functionality as the Sandvich, and more recently: Tomislav. The only weaknesses that have stayed in tact is that he's a big target and he requires a line of sight to damage people.
-giant snip- above poster is right, we're both idiots and I will quit it.
I hate playing Heavy because I die so easily, for some reason.
Pyro just has a high skill ceiling, if you've played against a very very good Pyro you know the kind of players i'm talking about
People complaining about Pyro and Heavy being UP? Wow, I'm in the 2009's SPUF or what?
Pyro just has a high skill ceiling, if you've played against a very very good Pyro you know the kind of players i'm talking about
Exactly, and I'm pretty sure adding the Reserve Shooter to the Pyro will do something with that ceiling. It'll just give a whole new bunch of oppertunities.
Exactly, and I'm pretty sure adding the Reserve Shooter to the Pyro will do something with that ceiling. It'll just give a whole new bunch of oppertunities.
Like give Pyro another insanely easy way to get free crits?
I've died more often around a corner from a Minigun :v:
that's called lag compensation. golden rule of survival in tf2: retreat early, retreat often.
that's called lag compensation. golden rule of survival in tf2: retreat early, retreat often.
I said that.
There is only 1 demoman in competitive play because they originally played with 2 but they found it was more fun and fluent a game if you only had 1. It essentially meaned all the routes were locked down and nobody could push in or out without first waiting for uber.
Why would someone need Loadout saving, it takes 10 seconds at most to change your loadout to the things you want (Unless you are some freaky person with 5 of all sorts of items and want just the specific one but they really are the same)
Because I can switch my hats faster. :v:
Because I can switch my hats faster. :v:
True that. :v:
True that. :v:
More seriously, switching from Demoman to Demoknight in one click is pretty useful if you ask me.
More seriously, switching from Demoman to Demoknight in one click is pretty useful if you ask me.
Then what's really the difference between those? Currently I am using´ Loch N Load The iron shield whatever its named The sword that gives 100% recharge rate I have no idea what really is a demoknight, or the difference..

Loadouts for Saxton Hale, Regular, ZF, ect
Change loadout depending on what gamemode you're playing.
Oh my god thanks this is the best idea.

Why do people think some classes are OP when it's obviously the player handling them that are OP? And what are you gonna do then? Nerf the people playing the classes? :v:
I'm hoping for a blog post tonight hinting the update
Why do people think some classes are OP when it's obviously the player handling them that are OP? And what are you gonna do then? Nerf the people playing the classes? :v:
Reminds me of that thread on SPUF about nerfing comp/good players :v:
i wish they separate weapon and headgear presets.
On topic of loadouts (bold for wall-of-text-o-phobes): My loadout varies a lot depending on whether I'm defending or attacking. On defense for example my Demo needs his trusty ScoRes and my Medic the Kritzkrieg, on offense my Engie doesn't leave the house without his Gunslinger and my Spy initially needs the Camp'n'Dagger to wait just outside RED spawn. In addition I frequently use "emergency loadouts" (QFix-Medic, quick def Engie with Jag) and "alt. playstyle loadouts" (Pybro with Sapper Wrecker, Demoknight). I always try to use different loadouts because of the fun within variety, but sometimes I just want to play effectively and switch back to a specific loadout appropriate to the situation at hand - and this loadout quickswitching will do wonders for me.
hitler used explosives so demoman is bad, internet argument ended. godwin's law applied.

The Loadouts make having SETS easy to switch to, Instead of quickswitching 1-4 items you can just press a Bind if you want to got attendant pyro or such.
Why do people think some classes are OP when it's obviously the player handling them that are OP? And what are you gonna do then? Nerf the people playing the classes? :v:
This reminds me of a story not necessarily related to the topic at hand, but still a good one. This one time I was on a server where there were only three people including myself, the other team being one soldier and one medic. "Challenge accepted," I thought, so I went soldier and I tried to fight them. Got a (random, mind you) crocket in my face, and the guy acually writes in the text chat "May as well give up kid, I played Solly for the [some stupid comp thing] team. You don't got a chance." Tried a couple of classes and he wiped the floor with me in the way that a Soldier with a Medic up his ass tends to do, all the while he was spouting shit like "Get on my level kid." So I went Heavy and I Pre-Nerf Natasha'd them both right back in to their spawnrooms. His Medic left before he did, and then right before he left he called me something along the lines of a "scrub Nat-using pubby." Then, he left. Pretty fucking satisfying if I do say so myself. Yeah but that's not related to the topic at hand so whatever.
