I'm unsure about the reserve shooter on Pyro, given how easy juggling is with airblast
If they give it to Pyro in regular TF2, no one should ever complain about afterburn ever again.
I'm unsure about the reserve shooter on Pyro, given how easy juggling is with airblast
Considering that, at that range, pretty much every other class would tear you to shreds, I'd say that it's rather logical for a close-combat class to have an advantage in close combat. Also do recall that, once juggled, it is physically impossible for the Pyro to land all pellets and get maximum ramp-up because that airblast will separate the two players (unless the victim is literally pinned against a wall, in which case they'd die anyway). People have been over-exaggerating how effective it can be because they've gotten so used to the Pyro being a mediocre combat class and are surprised when one can actually be a threat.
Tried deleting clientregistry.blob?
pretty sure GreenMarine said that deleting the file does nothing good and actually contributes toward other problems, long ago
Tomislav + warrior's spirit = -70 max health. jesus christ
Tomislav + warrior's spirit = -70 max health. jesus christ
People use the Warrior's Spirit?
Man; my two favorite items for the Heavy, visually, are Tomislav and the Warrior's Spirit. Now if I play as the Heavy I like the most, it'll essentially be like he developed leukemia on the way to battle.

It prevents you from escaping or retaliating effectively. It deflects projectiles from several classes. It puts out teammates. It basically puts people on a tee for Pyro's multiple crit-giving weapons. It can shove people into hazards or off cliffs. All of Pyro's flamethrowers have it. Given that Pyros can just use the Degreaser to instantly switch after airblasting someone, the person is at a close enough range to do multiple shots for heavy damage, just like they already do with the Flare Gun except they have 3 shots and not 1.

Heavily terrain dependent, too situational to be a huge balancing pivot And the one flamethrower that didn't have it was widely-considered to be inferior. If there was one airblast change that I outright disagreed with, it was the lowering of the delay between airblasts. I felt that that particular change in the 118th update made it too easy to airblast people around.
God damn this dorm room internet, I can't try the reserve shooter for the pyro out at all, but from I can see so far it makes a really weird middle ground for the flaregun and shotgun. On one hand, the mid air crits do similar damage to the flaregun at the cost of a huge amount of range, save for an ok amount for mid air targets. On the other hand you get 3 shots rather than 1 to compensate for the lost range, giving you this sort of hybrid of flaregun and shotgun strategy. Weird, very weird.
I like the concept of sharing weapons, no matter who they were for. Hell, give the Reserve Shooter to the Demoman, he might be able to make use of a hitscan weapon and it works with his juggling abilities. (I am only somewhat kidding on the first part.) Pyro should be fine with a Reserve Shooter. I sort of hope a model gets in for it, promote more artists, but if they want to keep it simple for easier visual identication then that's fine. (though the Postal Pummeler and Nine Iron / Headtaker already sort of go against this) The Tomislav nerf is sick. I'm on the fence - I would have preferred a different stacking of attributes but it's a nice attempt at balancing it, finally. The Widowmaker buff is welcome, though I still haven't actually used one to say if it's good or not. Anything that buffs a good offensive Engy is okay with me. Enforcer needs a different downside. This only makes the problem sillier. I've actually rocked a little Claidheamh mor before, and the extra charge length is nice on some maps (plus the health loss isn't too bad). A buff will only help it become relevant. and thank GOD they switched the grenade launcher and stickybomb launcher back to where they belonged. took long enough.
The comcast deal here is 40 bucks a month. My parents are actually willing pay for it though.
Well my parents pay for the internet (actually, not anymore, got a deal where we don't have to pay for it), but they still make me cough up for the overcharges. And it pretty consistently comes up to $50 every month. Not so bad, but that's pretty much a whole game I'm loosing out on getting. A game which I wouldn't be able to download anyways. :suicide: Though thank god school has wifi.
I don't want to get hyped for this after the whole Detonator fiasco, but the Reserve shooter for Pyro...am I dreaming? Is Valve actually helping us Pyros out? Maybe I won't have to use the axetinguisher to get fucking kills now! Also multi-miscs is cool, too EDIT: Why dumb?
I'm quite torn about this update. The misc2/preset loadouts obviously are the best things, on the other hand the balance changes...
I'm quite torn about this update. The misc2/preset loadouts obviously are the best things, on the other hand the balance changes...
At least they're using the beta for once. I don't get why they're "testing" a highly desired and strictly cosmetic effect.
At least they're using the beta for once. I don't get why they're "testing" a highly desired and strictly cosmetic effect.
It would have been better if they'd have implemented a backpack syncronization to let people actually try the new stuff...
Tomislav users are now forced to eat chocolate.
i'm so fucking glad they finally properly started to look at the heavy and how completely broken that damn class is. even though just nerfing their best unlock isn't everything it's a good start!
They considered an HP reduction on Natascha too didn't they? Back when the Beta was first released.
i'm so fucking glad they finally properly started to look at the heavy and how completely broken that damn class is. even though just nerfing their best unlock isn't everything it's a good start!
I wouldnt say its completely broken, but the Tomislav really is just the weapon of choice in the actual game far too often, and its not even used as a silent surprise weapon since everyone uses it offensively.
I don't get why they're "testing" a highly desired and strictly cosmetic effect.
Well usually when something is put into the beta, it's released in a big update. Just a thought for you there.
I need to know whether the mutton chops are wearable with the fancy dress uniform!
Oh wow this is awesome. Lots of nice changes.

now give the liberty launcher, black box, kgb, ubersaw and solemn wov some real downsides. 20% slower firing speed for 25% uber on hit? 15 health per any amount of damage done for 1 less rocket? 40% faster rockets for 1 less rocket loaded? seriously?
reserve shooter for pyro? foster is a misc? and you're telling me Valve loves soldier.
Tomislav users are now forced to eat chocolate.
I never thought of it this way. Its honestly a good idea and balances the weapon. I never thought Tomislav was OP, but I'm not gonna start a shitstorm because I never played against it that much. Was it honestly THAT bad?
OH MY GOOOOOD!!!!! YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!! Just as I finished what appears to be my last serious Deus Ex playthrough.
No, I don't want the Noh Mercy to be a misc. I want to wear my Noh and the camera beard at the same time... :<
