Wow o.o They're worth more than fists :D
Jesus, why didn't you just craft all of the fists to avoid any suspicion
Jesus, why didn't you just craft all of the fists to avoid any suspicion
I don't think I had many myself, I gave away 75% of the ones I used. I crafted a few, I think.
And please someone close this thread for the love of god.
I absolutely agree, I consider this matter closed. I wanted to make one final point, because in watching this unfold, it seems there is a pretty common misconception about the nature of the grievance. My problem is not with the market price of the GPF, or it's recent fall. I consider it a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. The true issue, which I attempted to highlight in the TL:DR, was the number and nature/origin of the GPFs that JSW was selling/moving with the help of others. That question unfortunately remains unanswered in a plausible or acceptable manner, and will likely not be resolved until Valve takes some official / public action. As I'd said previously; I've raised the profile of the issue, it's being investigated, I'm more than content.
Hey VALVe, I'm going to solve this problem with the least amount of complaints! Step 1. Disable the codes Step 2. Find the GPF that were made with the codes Step 3. Make all those GPF's untradable Step 4. ???? Step 5. YOU FIXED THE PROBLEM! I believe this solution is the best solution.
Just make them untradable/uncraftable, don't even disable the codes.
So, in short, you're nosy, you stuck your face where it doesn't belong, and now you're pissed off that someone is making money off of idiots. Hey, that happens every day, it's called the advertising business. You're taking this way too seriously, and I'm sure most people will find it hard to sympathize with someone who decides someone else's trading, legal or not, is suddenly their business. Good day, sir.

inb4 facepunch is hacked as well
inb4 facepunch is hacked as well
I must admit, you've got to feel sorry for Valve currently, their forums being hacked, the purity fists, exploiters of steam trade. All around Gabe's birthday month as well.
I must admit, you've got to feel sorry for Valve currently, their forums being hacked, the purity fists, exploiters of steam trade. Look where trading took us. It was advertized as a "Give guy your unwanted crap, he gives you his unwanted crap, win/win" thing, But it turned TF2 into a clusterfuck of "I HAV UNUSUAL GIMI 30 REF U MUST ADD SWEETS OR I REPERT U FER WASTIN MI TIEM" and people don't really actually... trade. Whaaaaat is wrong with team fortress todaaay...
I'm glad I didn't want a G. Purity Fist, I would've bought one by now if I did, especially after seeing them going for so cheap for some reason. But this, this is just awful. Good work OP at exposing this fraud. [editline]18th November 2011[/editline]
Whaaaaat is wrong with team fortress todaaay...
Alot. I miss the Pre-Mannconomy days. Those were the best.
There are so many parties that were harmed from this. Valve was robbed as it takes some time to make these keys and to send someone to the confernces. The regular tf2 players had their items devalued. I prepurchased Deus Ex HR Aguments, because it looked like an awesome game and the tf2 items were a bonus. I don't put any money into tf2, so whenever I want something, I have to get rid of something else, now the option of getting rid of the fist for a new hat is not a viable option. I like wearing my purity fist as it is part of my ultimate heavy loadout that I use. Pink heats magnificant mangollian, strange minigun, earbuds, sandvich, gru, and purity fist was my idea loadout. Now when playing, my loadout looks worse to other people and they potentially treat me with less respect, making me even more of a target to scams as If my one unusual wasn't enough. They didn't rob the unusual whores much, because their very straitlaced on their buds and bills and keys as currency. They profited from mass harm. Now regular people's items aren't worth as much, putting them farther from the hat of their dreams. Respect is lost for people equipping these. Valve had codes stolen, which could have been used to give to journalists which might have caused them to write about tf2. This was executed poorly as the fists should have been crafted into hats all day through diffent steam accounts and vpns. When you have infinite hats on your disposal, you have control over the economy, you decided hats you release and what hats you keep and what hats you delete. You could just overpay for bills and buds and get them all. Also, walls of proxies only protect you in the short term, the law is involved, their just layers of an onion, just ask the proxy for the ips at a timestamp and then repeat till your on an isp's ip address. Law has the power.

Why does everyone think this is like the Mannpocalypse it affected the price of one already not that expensive item. One thing. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
If I'm correct, they are craftable. So you could just shove them into the crafting square, get hats, and sell those hats for money, metal, or other TF2-related things.
If I ever managed to do whatever JesusSeaWarrior is doing, I wouldn't sell them for a profit. I'd give them to every new player that I could.
Hold on, what the fuck, I just bought one. WHO WANTS A FREE GENUINE PURIFY FIST?
Fists > Genuine Purity Fists or whatever the fuck they're called
Fists > Genuine Purity Fists or whatever the fuck they're called
Yeah because a weapon can be compared to a misc item.
If I ever managed to do whatever JesusSeaWarrior is doing, I wouldn't sell them for a profit. I'd give them to every new player that I could.
Just in case nobody's noticed, I've been giving away 90% of the profits I make. -_-
can I buy a purity fist please? I would like to possess my first genuine :D (don't care if it's deleted, willing to pay 2 scrap for it)
Yeah because a weapon can be compared to a misc item.
of course it can.
2scrap? a uncraftable huntsman would do it too ;)
Just in case nobody's noticed, I've been giving away 90% of the profits I make. -_-
keep going, i want to see more excuses you can pull out of your ass. It doesn't matter what you did with the money. The money is still ill-gotten and nothing can change that.
He's going for a Robin Hood approach, I think. He's just fucking it up really badly.
I don't see why everyone here is mad at them for doing it. It just seems you're all jealous that they beat YOU too it. Facepunch has tons of smug threads on ripping people off. Why u mad tho?
