The game's really easy because this kind of arcade beat-em-up is based around the kind of games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In those old games, players had to beat up the enemies using solely MELEE weapons. This TF2 arcade allows you to use projectiles and guns (and optionally the comparatively useless melee attack).
Of course it's going to be easy compared to TMNT 2 or something.
Actually the melee attack is very useful if you get swarmed.
swarmed.
You're not playing the game right.
Pick Soldier.
Walk up to enemy.
Rocket Jump.
If enemy isn't dead, shoot another rocket as you're in air.
Melee attack is pretty much unnecessary if you can Rocket Jump to deal 'pixel splash damage' and still have the safety of being untouchable in the air.
Funnest is Demoman by far, no self damage from sticky bombs is awesome.
Minor, super-simplistic, crappy skinpack I made (scattergun, rocket launcher, grenade launcher(+ world model), minigun, bonesaw(+ world model)).

To install, extract the tf folder to
c:\program files\steam\steamapps\USERNAME\team fortress 2\
Or, to install specific skins, navigate the tf folder until you reach the five folders named v_[weapon], and extract the folders of the reskins you want to
c:\program files\steam\steamapps\USERNAME\team fortress 2\tf\materials\models\weapons\
Edit: I use flipped viewmodels, though the skins were made based on regular viewmodels, and work correctly on those.
I'm still working on getting the skins to be animated (if that's even possible), though that will probably take a while, if I don't entirely drop the idea.
I think it's decent, though it's way too easy as Spy, Pyro, and Solder.
Pyro is the 2D version of W+M1, Soldier is just spam rockets, and Spy is cloak to skip basically all fights.
Scout was pretty easy too since his Scattergun never needs a reload.
Hoping for online support, co-op would make it way more fun, since in singleplayer medic is basically pointless.
Playing engineer is pretty tough on some stages. I played as him on that payload race stage. Big mistake.
Game is fun. Pyro and solider are my favorite.
Did anyone else feel the last level was kind of lacking? Not to say the boss isn't awesome, but I was kind of expecting a stage to go along with it instead of just the final boss. Is it just me?
I was expecting the boss to be something "better".
Like you'd see all 9 red classes coming onto the stage, then they all get attacked / pushed off screen by their TFclassic counterpart and you fight them instead.
And then you get the red robots coming to help you and sometime the red classes for a brief moment.

Thank you Seiteki.
I don't think my laptop will work well enough for the arcade system. I'll have to go to Craigslist to find another cheapy system.

i was able to play it once and now it seems to be broken :/
Played through the whole thing using every class once and pyro for the finale. Was great, can't wait for online multiplayer support. :v: I mean it only took like 10-20 minutes to beat but it would still be fun.
Shit, wrong idea trying out Medic in the second to last level. The Spy boss in it is too much.

I tried to beat him as pyro. I died twice.
Ah, playing this with 4 people is SO MUCH FUN, yet SO FREAKING CROWDED. We have to use at least 2 keyboards, and it takes us about 30 minutes to get to about Level 4, and then everyone has to stop, so then next time we get to all play we have to start all over again. Pretty fun, but also annoying.
I still think there is no reason NOT to play soldier/scout. Scout for the payload stages, soldier for the rest.
I mean, payload race is just pathetic with the scout.
Tried to beat each stage with the same character the boss would be. Soldier was easy with rocket jump spamming, Pyro I used my melee to axe him to death.
It was fine until I got up to Engineer.
A map where you constantly need to be pushing a MOVING cart when your primary weapon can only be used while STANDING STILL. Yeah, I ragequitted halfway through the stage.
Second-to-last, Spy, was so easy with spy. Also, in the last level velev (volvo lolvo durrr), Saxton Hale got stuck somehow. It just flew in the corner and fook it, RAGEQUIT.
Whilst the last boss was surprising, I would have preferred something more unique or challenging.
Like the whole red team and blue team having a big deathmatch, or a big sequence fight with Saxton Hale.
Having Saxton Hale simply flying across the screen now and then was a little underwhelming.
Final boss is...

[sp]enormous robot Cave Johnson who drops combustable lemons from the ceiling and who basically is like fighting Master/Crazy Hand from SSB. Saxton Hale pops in to knock off his head for you[/sp]

You know, before I completed the game I thought it was just a joke.
