Simple/stupid mistakes you know you should never make (but still do)

I pull out my shotgun and if I run out of ammo I charge them with my melee weapon or reload, depending on the situation.

You have to be coated with jarate or something to receive critical hits from a sentry.

And I always rocket jump with too less health, so I end up killing myself

I think too highly of myself and lots of times when i have 85 hp I assume i can rj up a platform and survive but i end up failing it and i die

There's two ways to have mini crits on your sentry.
1. the enemy must be covered in jarate
2. the engineer (you) must be buffed by the buff banner

Also stupid mistakes I do but know I should never make uhhhh.
Going to melee a huntsman sniper.

If you're at two feet of the sniper when he fires, no matter what, how, when, why, or where, it's ALWAYS a headshot.

jump to prevent the headshot.

and trying that trick against demos, since the weapons shoot slightly upwards.
