But they can keep defenders at bay with jarate? The only classes with any capping power is scout , soldier(paintrain), and demo(paintrain)

medics can defend points with ubers, and often end up capping a point with the person they pocket. Even when the last point was being contested, I have rarely seen a sniper physically defending a point.
