I didn't do much just 10 mins of copy / paste
Quick question, I rendered my video as .tga files, after that, what do I do to compress them to 1, and add the .wav file?
I use avi, Because i don't know what tga is or does
tga is basically taking screenshots of each frame, but when you put them together, they make the video.
Jesus that will take forever
The .tga method is probably the more resource-using, longer, and more pain-staking route to take. What you need to do is get a program like VirtualDub or the like and combine all the .tga files into one movie clip, and add in the .wav file as audio.
Jesus that will take forever
Nah, I made like a 20 second film, only took about 8 minutes or so.
Uh, you drag the first .tga into virtualdub and it detects the rest due to the numbers. Then, go to the audio tab at the top and use audio from other file, pick the .wav you exported. Then, set the framerate at the video tab accordingly, and pick a compression codec at the video tab as well. Then, go to file and save as .avi

Whenever you select the codec and hit OK, it compresses the video using that codec AS you save the .avi, not immediately. I recommend the XVid codec, very good quality and very good compression, as well.

Yeah, first SFM video, wasn't aiming for anything super serious.
So the character models on 3ds max Soldier's helmet traps have bones Scout's mic has a bone :V
Im streaming right now again. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/hoodedsniper

Wow you guys added a lot over the last 10 hours :)
Hmmm... I have a problem.... Why are my wires in wireframe?
Yeah, the community that hosted the SFM wiki suddenly died. I'll create a wikia for it. [editline]01:12AM[/editline] http://sourcefilmmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Source_Filmmaker_Wiki I'll start a bulk of the work tomorrow.
So many god damn ads. Isn't there a software that you can add to your site and choose if you want ads on your wiki? Or do you have no site?
Does it render like that?
Yes it does, and when i add the color correction effect, like at random points i'd see thin straight white lines through passing thorugh my Engine viewport kinda like wireframe particles but all i was rendering was soldier running through the fields. Still it doesnt matter, we should spread this site out to the other Sourcefilmmakers out there like those people out there at youtube who make awesome (and by awesome, i mean the best there is) machinima series with this tool. We should tell them about this wikki so that they can contribute their secrets and bug fixes! In the end, the public always wins Valve. (i feel so patriotic right now.... wierd)
Wow, I didn't realize how many ads Wikia has (I use Adblock Plus). Anyway, just finished editing the tips page to clean up the formatting. Also moved it to fix the title, then realized that I still didn't capitalize "Things." Ah well.
yeah
Im loving the wiki. Great job on it, i also added to my color correction technique. On how to use the .raw files.
I'm working on a really word and picture heavy guide to the SFM (starting with the UI)
Wire-frame :v:
i put that in my tips page...
I mean i added onto it, i saw it and i found something else out on how to make .raw files for use with it, i just added that part.
Awesome, Thanks for keeping it on one page i might start on rendering :eng101: [editline]08:38PM[/editline] :eng99: [editline]08:57PM[/editline] Done basic rendering, But i don't know anything about tga rendering, It would be great if someone could add it: http://sourcefilmmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Rendering#How_to_render [editline]09:01PM[/editline] And how do i change the logo?

Darkomni taught me how, so I could possibly write the guide. Unless he wants to, he's way better at it :3:
