XD OMG i cant stop laffing at this one! wow that was rly dumb of me.... :D
I have an idea for a short film that relates to my poster above...
But cyber-core has a payload map, an unlockable weapon with the crit overlay, and a pyro with a gibus... I don't think that's possible.
Hmm..sounds like a good movie....
Great, now all of SFM is falling apart. If I load any map besides the default one, SFM crashes soon after.

That's a new one! :v:

Do you have a backup of a pristine copy of it? I've managed to mess up my installation a couple times, but I keep two backups (one unmodified, one with all the new maps/models/textures/cfgs) in case something happens.
Though it doesn't sound like you've changed anything, it might still be worth a shot.

I installed it twice and only made adjustments to one. Both of them are crashing and giving me that DLL error as well as refusing to export. I have no idea what's going on.
Btw, anybody can use my wallpapers for private use (aka your wallpaper). But if you use it for public stuff, please give me credit.
Anyways, I'm working on a "Meet the Pyro" trailer. But here's this:

Unrelated things. I needed a new avatar, and this popped into my head.
The soldier will be the only one to have a dialogue in the MTP trailer, though.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!
I just installed the damn program for the third time and now the fresh copy is crashing. So now I know it's either conflicting with another program ,possibly Steam, HL2, or TF2 (though I don't run anything besides Firefox alongside SFM) or with my system itself. I need to check and see if maybe it's a firewall or something blocking it. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit if anyone has an idea of what's going on.
Mine's crashing too.
maybe Valve has activated a remote kill button :tinfoil:
hmmm. new video.... :buddy:

Mine doesn't crash any more than normal.
sfm porn is not a lie!

To the guys not being able to install or something, try patching it with different patches

Make it so the sentries shoot him
Yeah, I'm crashing every time I load a map. I tried reinstalling. That didn't work. I can't even get it to start.

Working fine for me. What could have changed that's suddenly making several people crash repeatedly? Might be in the registry, since both the beta and release share share that and it's about the only thing Valve could have changed.
[editline]today[/editline]
Try this install order as well (if applicable):
patch_tf2_07-09... (skip tf/bin folder)
TF2_Hotfix
FINAL_FIXx_ADVANCED
enginetools
I get this every time I try to reinstall. I don't remember this happening when I first installed in January.
Oh right, don't use the installer. Just make sure you have enough space on the same drive, then give the installer to UniExtractor - no errors, it will simply extract all the files.
[editline]Right now[/editline]
Also, apparently that error might be caused by realtime virus scanners.
It could be my virus scanner then. When I first installed, I didn't have one.
It couldn't be how I installed it, it was working fine like a week ago. I haven't touched it since, and now it's crashing every time I get into a map.
I'm guessing that it's a registry issue - I can't really think of anything else that might have changed for several people to affect one program, unless you all recently installed the same thing. The thing that's odd, of course, is that a couple people (myself included) are having no extra crashing.
Maybe give SourceTool's registry cleaner a try? It removes the tf2 keys that are in registry (eg. video settings), as well as the cfg directory (back it up first). It seems like a long shot but it's fixed random tf2-related issues before.

Also, just as a random note in case anyone knows what I'm talking about - if you use WinDbg you can see all the console output as well as some debug messages. This might help determine the reason for the crash, as there could be an error outputted that you just don't see since it crashes too fast. I can't actually test this since my copy is operational, but if anyone knows how to use WinDbg and has the issue you might want to give it a shot.
Once again, not suggesting that for anyone who doesn't know how to / is will to learn to use WinDbg.

i have some dirty ideas but with the way posing works in SFM, its gonna take a miracle......
Make it so the sentries shoot him
How can i do that?.. recordings don't interfere with other so sentries wont do shit right?
You have to use bots to trigger the sentries, during the same recording.
Speaking of which, is there a command to stop sentries from noticing enemies? If so, you could just place a bot where the heavy will appear, then bind a key to re-enable sentries seeing enemies. Once done we just remove all the extra bot models.
A list of good Facepunch-made SFM videos would be cool.
I particularly liked the Engie throwing the wrench at the Spy Sniper. Even if they are shorts, there still seem to be some good ones and I don't want to sift through 23 pages to find them. :P

Pretty much every SFM video you'll find will stem from Facepunch.
Most of the good videos are in the first thread.
I don't know why, but I laugh every time I see that one where the engineer walks out, sees a sentry farm and various enemies, turns around and says "nope."
