They seem to be pushing out fixes as they happen which might explain such an early update and the constant patches every day, patching the CTD might be more complex so it's taking them a while.
WOW, WE REALLY NEEDED THIS UPDATE SO URGENTLY.
UGH, I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY.
My TF2 is fucking crashing ever 5 min, and loadout is most of the time offline.
argh
Luckily I experience crashes rarely. It's still annoying as fuck tought.
they did a small schema update
they basically removed "load on demand" from every model in the entire game, hoping it would fix the crashes
I still crash though :x

laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate
Cructo posted it I belive.
It seems to crash when Demoman does something, most of the times it crashes when I look on a Demoman.

not in this thread though?
I think the crashes were on purpose so people can stop playing tf2, go get jobs and earn money, and when the crashes are fixed, the Halloween update comes around with more stuff for you to buy! :v:
huh, everyone else is crashing like mad, too? thought it was just me.
good to know

something similar happenned a few years ago when the biggest interim (employment agencies) websites in france got ddosed for a week when they were moving the starcraft servers.
Seems like Valve has released an update every business day for the past 6 days if I'm not mistaken. Rather odd....

You know it's the manniversary.
When Saxton Hales comes in, nothing works like usual (UNUSUAL LOL).
This is the first update that I was actually completely asleep for. :v:
They must be pulling all-nighters if they're releasing patches at 5 am. Although it does make sense, the frequent crashes are a reason for them to want to fix as much as they can before people get too frustrated.

What if this is like those week-long update things with newer content added each day
"Bug-fix Update week, leading up to the Optimization Update" where everything gets fixed ever
man, those crashes must have been pretty crazy if they still haven't managed to pin down a fix.
How did they let it get like this, everything worked fine in the beta :x

Major updates usually tend to have bugs, just wait it out. I bet they're trying hard to crack down on the problem.
but this major update should have just been copy and paste code from the beta...

They also had to deal with what they broke on the SDK (which was fixed today).
Valve must be running on caffeine by now.

I'm trying to think exactly what could cause such big fuck-ups with both TF2 and the SDK in quick succession.
I'm not sure if it's been posted over here yet, but someone over on one of the SPUF threads actually decompiled TF2 down to x86 Assembly and supposedly pinpointed the random crashes at StudioRenderer.dll.
hl2 still crashing today
Go valve! :suicide:
Previous patch fixed crashing for me, now it's crashing again.
Well atleast they will have a reason to delay the Halloween update :(

[release]Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
- Fixed a problem with recording POV demos that prevented them from being played back[/release]
First time I've seen Valve push out an update in the morning, according to Steam, this thing was pushed out at 5 AM PST today.[/QUOTE]
- Robin, what are you doing?
- Making a Team Fortress 2 update
- It's four o'clock in the morning! Why in the world are you making a Team Fortress 2 update?
- Because I lost control of my game
