why has nobody tried ad Darth Vader / storm trooper helmet yet?
I would have thought that would be obvious.
Both have been done. i did a storm trooper and some other guy did a darth vader helmet.

Awesoe Idea. But a wig made out of Scrap, Reclaimed and Refined would be more awesome I think.
I thought of it more as 3 refined to make a hat made out of 3 refined
I thought of it more as 3 refined to make a hat made out of 3 refined
make it 4 refined and a class token and you've got a deal (it could be the new paper bag, one for each class and each class would have their own class token)
Could you make a version of the Jarate icon with the lid pointing towards the camera?
Guys, stop asking for this. It's not going to happen. If I pointed the lid downward, then the result would be a jar of liquid with the liquid defying gravity. If I tilted it any other way, it would break the flow of the icons. The way it is is the way Jarate fits into the flow that I chose. If you really must see a lid, use the Valve default.

This is actually a pretty cool idea.

Sounds good, Could you make it for the gibus to?
Sounds good, Could you make it for the gibus to?
lol, what i meant by "it's like the new paper bag", i meant that it'll be similar in the fact that it changes per class. ofc i'd love to see this thing as a gibus replacement

Ironic, the german word for "bold" is "fett", and now chek you you wrote the first letter of the word "fett".
Raising the mouth grating up to his nose would make it about twice as tall and that doesn't look good at all. I did made it a little bit taller, though.
I also redid the fin some time ago.

My original idea was to make the colors kind of match the orange/yellow colors the teams have, and I'm not a big fan of hats that look wildly different depending on the team.
But the grey helmet still fits him pretty nicely.
Simplicity is brilliance, it doesn't need a ton of detail. Release gold for red, silver for blu.
Awesome Idea. But a wig made out of Scrap, Reclaimed and Refined would be more awesome I think.
Scrap metal for Modest pile of hats
Reclaimed Metal for Noble amassment.
Refined metal for Towering Pillar.
Or just make one hat featuring pieces from all 3. Either way we all win.

What do you mean?
The soldier helmet could use more obvious paint patches, in my opinion.
[editline]08:32PM[/editline]
Maybe some damage as well, but that's already been said.

Paint patches, maybe if it looked like it was painted.
Not to disagree, but it looks like solid unpainted metal at this point to me.
And I like it this way.

Team Fortress 2 has paint patches on the textures because they wanted to leave a mark of the 'artistic process' that went into making it. This idea came from earlier iterations of the game where everything was made of clay and they left fingerprints and such on the textures.
So regardless of whether the steel was painted or not, it should have paint patches. Look at the shotgun if you want a good example.
Exceptions for this are ofcourse character models, these are less noisy and less detailed.

You pose a good point.

Also look at the Stainless Pot. Even though its name suggests otherwise it has stains in the form of paint patches even though it's just regular metal.

Yes, this project is still going
(Most definitely not the final texture, still needs more improvement)
anways, informative on royzo's and daimao's part, interesting on the sonya
and as for the Poor Manne's Hatte of Refinery (name pending, joke on wearing "finery" like jewels and...well you get the idea), i'll start working on it as soon as my new rig comes in. my current POS laptop is worthless for modeling
