...Actually I need to fix all the textures. Maybe I should follow Overlord's suggestion and make it different. A friend of mine suggested Chaos Marines, but they're black.
Not so much for team colors. Yes? No? Suggestions?
Maybe you can put the soldiers rocket symbol on the front?
It's already on his shoulder.
You can't just change tf_english.txt, you have to change items_game.ctx too.
So, you'd use CTXHax to decompile items_game.ctx (or use the ready-to-go .txt, though you'll need CTXHax later anyway). Then you'd find the item you want (eg. Hound Dog), add the "item_description" line referencing the token in tf_english.txt like so:
"145"
{
"name" "Heavy Hair"
"hidden" "0"
"item_class" "tf_wearable_item"
"craft_class" "hat"
"item_type_name" "#TF_Wearable_Hat"
"item_name" "Hair?"
"item_description" "#TF_HeavyHair_desc"
"item_slot" "head"
"item_quality" "unique"
"image_inventory" "backpack/player/items/heavy/hounddog"
"image_inventory_size_w" "128"
"image_inventory_size_h" "82"
"model_player" "models/player/items/heavy/hounddog.mdl"
"drop_type" "none"
"propername" "0"
"used_by_classes"
{
"heavy" "1"
}
}
Recompile it into .ctx. Then you could edit the tf_english.txt, getting results like this:

I'm still having trouble with one thing, though - hopefully Shugo can help. Typing a description directly into "item_description" doesn't seem to work - it has to use the reference to tf_english.txt. Is there a way around this, to only change one file?
Guess I'll have to live with this occasionally :v:

And yeah it has 0 UVs and has the mirror texture applied, shoot me.
I dunno why but I laughed at that...
Oh and I did it in like 40 seconds to see if it would work, it doesn't really due to the medics stick thin head.

No it's Gmod poser.
Are those custom anims?
Negative. I didn't see the point to add any, because it fits like glove and there really is just one slashing animation.
The view model animations are custom however. Most just modified, but the critical stab animation is made by hand.
EDIT: Maybe I should've pointed out better that the pictures are just about showing off the world model.

They look odd because you are not using line breaks. The first has no level because you are referencing a text string that doesn't exist. (My intuition tells me you probably misspelled it. :v:)
Not to be a credit whore or anything, but you should just submit suggestions and leave it to me. I'm striving to make sure this mod turns out to be quality and I've already learned the format well. I'm not stopping you from doing your own thing, but it really isn't nice to take someone else's idea and make a release out of it before they can. :frown:
(And before anybody asks, he did state he wants to release his own on a previous page.)
[editline]08:06PM[/editline]
By the way, been meaning to show some progress. These are the current descriptions I have 'done'; obviously several of them need more flavorful text, so maybe you guys can help out with suggestions:
Bat: "A worn out, beat up baseball bat from the Scout's younger days in Boston. There's a funny story behind that dent."
Bottle: "A smelly bottle with questionable contents. How the Demoman is able to smuggle this into work every day is unknown."
Fire Axe: "A handy axe for chopping. Despite being a fireman's axe, it is unknown if this axe has ever actually been used to save people from fires."
Kukri: "After serving many years in the outback as a literal bushwhacker, this brush clearing tool is now put to use cutting people out of the way."
Knife: "A compact, easily concealed Balisong for surprise attacks. A weapon feared in the hands of an unseen shadow."
Fists: "One would advise not to bring only fists to a knife fight, but with fists bigger than 'tiny baby coward', who needs a knife?"
Shovel: "Once used to dig entrenchments by soldiers of past wars, it is now used instead for violent plastic surgery."
Wrench: "The Uhlman Build-Matic Wrench isn't just for building. It also excels at destroying both machinery and skeletal tissue! A quality TF Industries product."
Bonesaw: "Life-saving disease stopper or deadly mad doctor's tool? Its many bent and worn teeth attest to the latter."
Shotgun (Engineer): "TF Industries standard issue. Comes packaged with the Sentry Mechanical Firing Device."
Shotgun (Soldier): "Usually a TF Industries standard issue weapon, this particular gun was taken from a fallen Nazi and has since been used to kill many more."
Shotgun (Heavy): "TF Industries standard issue. 'Little gun is faster than bigger gun. I keep just in case.'"
Shotgun (Pyro): "TF Industries standard issue. Because not everything in life is flammable."
Scattergun: "Not content with the slow-reloading, single-barreled shotguns, the Scout opted for a lever-action double-barrel with a wide spray of pain."
Sniper Rifle: "A high-powered bolt-action rifle. Often referred to as 'the matchmaker' due to its innate ability to unite bullets with heads in successful long-distance relationships."
Minigun (grey text): "Weight: 150 kg Firing Speed: 10,000 RPM Cost: $400,000 per 12 seconds"
Minigun: "A powerful, multi-barrel machine gun. Affectionately dubbed 'Sasha', she is the Heavy's deadly bread and butter."
SMG: "A small, light-weight submachine gun. Needing something to assist in close combat, the Sniper chose the smallest, fastest weapon he could find."
Syringe Gun: "The Medic's own handiwork, the syringe gun carries a few of his favorite things while solving the issue of how to get them into people as quickly as possible."
Rocket Launcher: "A high propulsion bazooka capable of two great feats: loading four rockets at once and and providing airborne mobility to the user."
Grenade Launcher: "A gift from his parents, the Demoman's grenade launcher is very adept at filling any room with lots of 'ka-boom'."
Stickybomb Launcher: "Passed down through generations of Highland Demolition Men, the stickybomb launcher is the Demoman's 'secret sauce' to his carefully-laid trap recipes."
Flamethrower: "Cobbled together from whatever the Pyro's hands could find, the flamethrower helps to realize the Pyro's twisted dream of setting the world on fire."
Pistol (Engineer): "A simple sidearm with a fast firing rate. For defending against faraway yellow bellies who can't fight a sentry gun like a man."
Pistol (Scout): "A simple sidearm with a fast firing rate. For attacking faraway chuckleheads who look a tad too dangerous to brawl with up close."
