Why does this remind me of Rome. Nowhere near the death though.
Some people wanted to buy hats.
I like having tons of weapons; that's the only thing I liked about RPGs. TF2 now has a level of customization and gameplay style options that are staggering. It's not the same game it was back in 2007, but it's still a good game. It'll get better as things die down. The store isn't that bad and the new weapons aren't terribly confusing, it's just that we're used to getting- at most- six weapons at one time. This update threw, what, 15 or so at us?
Powerjack is a straight upgrade on nocrit servers (which are like two fifths of all servers these days).
Not Valve's problem. In the same way that 30 player servers are usually unbalanced clusterfuck.
Not Valve's problem. In the same way that 30 player servers are usually unbalanced clusterfuck.
I don't understand how people can play on those servers. You get killed by a stray bullet/projectile everytime you walk into the battlements. At most, I play on 20 player servers.

Thanks for the input fellas. Its good to see that people agree with me.
Yes. I agree. I DEMAND a classic mode without all the unlockables.
Yes. I agree. I DEMAND a classic mode without all the unlockables.
This would be awesome. Really, its all that i would play.
You all are overreacting, Team Fortress 2 is still, if not more, fun. 1. You don't HAVE To buy items, you can just forget about the store all together, if you get a crate, trade it to a person who has the money to use it. 2. Craft items like you did before, keeping the excitement of crafting a hat. The point is, you're all bitching because Valve wanted some money. I personally think this update was the best one in a while. [editline]11:14PM[/editline] It's the same thing with the engie update. "OH VALVE, WHERE'S THE ENGIE UPDATE?!" "Here." "THIS SUUUUUUUCKS VALVE." Now it's: "VALVE TRADING PLEAAASSEEE" "VALVE POLYCOUNT PLEEAAAAASEE" "here." "WTF YOU RUINED THE GAAAAAAAAAAAAME"

Why would someone be stupid enough to call it "the death of TF2" ? It's more popular than it has ever been. And now it's making money every minute of the day.
Not Valve's problem. In the same way that 30 player servers are usually unbalanced clusterfuck.
It is Valve's problem, because they're the ones that added the nocrit server command in the first place. Not only that, nocrits are a staple of competitive play, which Valve endorses.

In the end, they have always said that they endorse competitive Market yes. But when it comes down to it, any business that fucks the many to placate the (albiet loud and whiny) few, will never suceed. And regardless, the leagues will kneejerk ban 90% of the update anyway.
There oughtta be "classic" mode.
Xbox 360.
TF2 is now just people sitting in spawn talknig about trading. I tell them off until they start playing and they go "fine I'll play if it will make you happy" like its some sort of chore! Every fucking server.
Right now I have a feeling in my stomach, close to my heart. For the first time in 3 years I do not feel like playing TF2. It's way too chaotic, at every server there are people spamming trading possibilites, the new view-models are looking annoying in my eyes and there are way too many of the weapons for me to keep track of. If I want something special I'll have to either spend money at it or play a lot. If I play a lot I won't be able to get more items because I'll have to wait like a week for my items to start dropping again, and- I can't take this anymore, and I'm just thinking of removing my whole backpack, or gifting my five hats and all my weapons, my new name-tags and crates away. The hats that I loved so much a week ago is now just irritating me. I hate them, and the only thing stopping me from deleting them is that I might change my mind later on. A classic mode, or a pre-updates mode or what ever, would be great. Start a game and choose which updates to include, so that you can play as old times. Imagine a Soldier having 40 rockets again!
tf2 still owns you are all babies
I have a feeling that Valve wants to slowly abandon TF2, but not kill it at the same time. That's why they are implementing stuff like crafting, trading and microtransactions, to keep the game running without requiring much work from Valve's side. They'll probably add more systems like these to continue the progress of making a more self-expanding game. Nevertheless, I'm really interested to see how this will turn out after few months. I have a bad feeling they might start adding exclusive items to the store, but again we will have to wait for it to happen.
I like TF2, but the Polycount really threw me around a bit. Customisation, trading, purchases, crates, unbalances, it's so much in one update, and it seems that it was really rushed to try to fit into the deadline. Hm, the idea of a Classic TF2 gamemode seems very good. But surely you could achieve the same effect by getting the server to lose connection to Steam? :v:
TF2 needs a vanilla version, I've said this several times before this update came out. It's sad how much they've changed the game. Also there already is an exclusive item, the Mann Co hat.
Xbox 360.
But with good controls.

What im saying is that there was a chunk of the community who wanted to keep the simplistic fun of the game. But i do know what your saying. Im not trying to whine here, just express my opinion about the last couple months of tf2.
What I miss the most is that feeling of a secret war. TF2 had that awesome 50's spy feeling. Now, it seems like that joke about TF2 being a "War Themed Hat Simulator" is a reality...

Remeber how awesome those couple days were?
