I was okay with Bill's beret being added into the game as a promotional item, but this is going a bit too far... and when I say a "bit", I mean "way". While the items certainly adhere to the wonderful artistic design of TF2, they still feel so misplaced; at least for the time being.
I don't care that you have to buy an unrelated product to receive some useless items, I care that Valve is kind of compromising TF2's unique feel by inserting such random, unrelated items. Ramble rant.
Equalizer nerf, I don't really care.
Valve is not forcing you to get these items in general. Therefore they are not forcing you to spend a mesely 30 bucks for a game to get exclusive items.
So do 1 of 3 things.
1. Get the game, enjoy the new items and enjoy the game itself.
2. Get the game just for the new items, Telltales is making money off you anyway.
3. Don't get the game, don't get the new items, move on with your life.
I could care less about the new hat/items and the Equalizer nerf was in order.

Bill's hat looks absolutely nothing like TF2's art style and they changed it to make it so. Am I the only one that thinks it's actually kind of fitting besides the futuristic-ish design of them (even though the real life luger is even older than when tf2 takes place)? I mean sure they don't fit the color scheme but that doesn't mean they're bad reskins.
1. I think the sam and max stuff is interesting.
2. I love the Tell Tale Sam and Max games.
3. What's the point to the Equalizer nerf anyway? I rather use my good old spy revolver.

Equalizer nerf is both good and bad. Bad, that I used to use it to own heavy ass, and now probably sucks at doing it. Good, that I don't get my ass owned by it.
Oh, and as for the items: The revolver looks like shit in game, the hat is pretty lame, but the pistol is pretty rawesome. Overall, I am not cryin' if I miss it.

Love how the Scout puts an imaginary magazine into a non-existent hole in the gun. Shows how much effort they put into those weapons. I was actually hoping to see the scout load in the clip from the top. Guess that would've been too much work.

If I take a shit on your bed, you're allowed to complain about it. When you bought your bed, you were probably operating under the assumption that I would not one day come to your house and take a shit on it.
If you don't like it, you either have to clean the shit stains out yourself (i.e. download replacement skins) or buy a new bed (play something else).
I have the same thoughts on this as several people have already said... It's not a big deal that they're adding content that's only available to specific people, and I don't even mind so much that it's a cheap marketing ploy... My big problem is that people running around wearing Max's head as a hat makes TF2 look pretty dumb.
The first generation of hats was probably the best... And the second generation was just about as good. There were the gibus and halloween mask, which are ok just as little halloween celebrations, but I think it's kind of dumb that the gibus stays year-round. There's Bill's hat, which is kind of out-of-place, but it can still be passed off as looking like it fits in with TF2. Then there's the halo... And half of the community-added hats... and now this silly shit. This is seriously pushing the limit of TF2's ability to have some semblance of a fourth wall. It might just be totally gone at this point.
I want to buy it, but my parent's butthurt about buying stuff online because if I get bored of the game I can't return it.
