I guess he take his time because the choice he has to make is kinda difficult.
He can:
1- Remove every model and animation done by Max making all his work useless.
or
2- Do nothing and hope everything turns out how he wants. But this will get him in even more trouble.

It's a shame too, I don't know about you guys but had he just came in here, apologized and did as Max requested, I could see forgiving him later on down the road, but at this point it's pretty clear he doesn't want to settle things in a civilized manner.

Well, he technically he didn't give his life for it. That would imply that he was in a war. Its more like his life was taken from him because he wanted the betterment of all people.
