Why I am starting to hate TF2... And not ranting about Mann store or polycount

You got the game of as a gift, you have no right to rant.
I don't like seeing debate threads where the OP starts out somewhat decent then you notice a handful of really dumb opinions they mix in that just shit all over the credibility.
You should have stuck with the main point (that hats are becoming increasingly stupid and ruining the whole visual theme) and excluded some of the dumber rants like how you hate saxton hale (i actually think saxton hale is one of the more properly done things valve has done).
A big point you should have made is that these new "uncommon" hats with the stupid goddamn particle effects are a pain in the ass. They just look annoying ingame and further detract from the visual theme that TF2 has going for it.
I liked Hale as a memetic badass.
As a shill for an actual-real-money store, though, not so much.
It is true that things must be updated to keep people's interest in them. But what Valve has done I find very gratuitous.
I hate how Activision vomits out new releases and updates to vacuum up more of their customers money. I hate how if a game is left alone, it will surely die out.
What Valve is doing is adding lots and lots of content. Good right? Well yes, but they are adding it all in the same pile. I have lost track of how many weapons and hats there are. At the rate that they are spitting combat items out, they will not be able to keep the game balanced. Adding hats and other features that don't effect combat in the game is alright, but this is just too much.
What I think they should do is somehow separate their content. Possibly add an expansion with 9 new, but similar, classes. If the expansion were playable in servers with the original players, this would be a disaster and would only be doing what I stated first, adding more content to a huge pile of content. But having them separate would divide their content in half, without leaving the old content behind, assuming that Valve would update both of them annually.
Stop the presses, Danka hates TF2. Everybody stop playing.
PART 3:
I don't like Saxton Hale.
Why not? Sometimes the Saxton Hale comics are the best part of an update(to me anyway). It would be cool if they sold RL, quality(as in paper and stuff) versions of them, with the extra pages they talk about in the comics.
We now have people running with trumpets, jars of jarate, fish, and
...And it's so much fucking fun. Don't like it, gtfo, or you can stay and be taunted
Ugh promotional items...
Complaining about cartoony weapons in a cartoony game. :colbert:
i agree with the op the community are to retarded to even realize the game is being ruined and let valve gladly shovel shit into their mouths since it's free. oh ya and saxton hale is a retarded meme
I agree that the Eyelander and Chargin' Targe were fucking stupid ideas for the Demoman. And some of the newest hats are absolutely ridiculous. Like an Umbrella hat for the Heavy, and a Dr. Seuss hat for the Soldier.
Don't get me wrong, Umbrellas are cool and so is Cat in the Hat, but they don't really have their place in TF2.
I JUST only started thinking negatively around this update though. Because it's like Valve is specifically trying to put in unfitting hats and items now. But whatever, nothing I can really do about it so I'll just sit back and enjoy the game anyway.
The Targe was meant to make the Demo a much more offensive class. To attack with the demo, you had to run backwards and fire or run forwards with a bottle. Now running forwards usually got you killed. With the targe, you gain the ability to take a lot more damage but also to charge quickly into your enemy and crit them. It's simply an offensive alternative, it's thee if you don't want to/can't lay traps with the sticky launcher.
Oh, and I completely agree with the hat thing. Some hats are now just fucking ridiculous, and I don't see how anyone can like them. Umbrella on a Heavy's head? Yea, you just killed his character.
I thought Heavy stopped being badass since the pootispencerhere line.
PART 4:
I HATE SPUF.
Finally... I hate SPUF. Everytime a weapon comes out, you people WHINE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW IT'S TOTALLY UNFAIR IF I CAN'T ONE SHOT A HEAVY AS SCOUT
Let's take a look at the Sandman. Perfect weapon when it came out... but you all cried so hard because it stunnned, and it was unfair in your pro leauges... and Valve listend to you and now it's essentielly useless.
I completely agree with this statement.
Stupid bitching about mostly inconsequential things. :downswords:

Part four is the only part I agree with, they 'fixed' the Sandman and still have not touched easy-mode heavy (Natasha)
As for the rest, no one really cares.
I agree with quite a bit of what you've said;
However, next time I suggest you skip mentioning disliking Saxton Hale.
I don't mind that you don't like him, but since it's such a matter of mere preference, it's an unnecessary opinion that will hurt your argument more than it helps it.
i agree completely

Are you OP, or just some random dipshit who decided to agree with the largest cynic to exist? You just restated what he said, adding nothing.
"oh noes tf2 sux cuz valve implented hats that dont effect gameplay hurp durp"

Demoman is his name, Demoman is made to demolish things, his icon is an explosive. His roles are area denial and building destruction. Removing his primary weapon to do both his roles is just outright retarded game design.

this
I, for one, am quite happy with the new polycount hats and weapons. They seem fitting enough, and don't change the roles of each character at all.
I agree on your 2 first points. I don't care about the others, because Saxton Hale is OK and I never visit SPUF.
I demand a vanilla mode.
I agree with you Danka, and this is why I still play the console version, where there's no shit unlocks and stupid hats.
I don't say everything in the PC version is BAD, but seriously, it's not TF2 anymore now.

I have wanted that for so long :(

well technically he can still lob explosives in an arc with his primary weapon so he can still demolish sentries. Although i find it easier to demolish sentries with the stickylauncher.
But yeah, the Targe is a gimmick. Classic demoman is so much more effective than Targe demomen when it comes to the purpose of the class. Targe demomen are basically just brawlers with no actual strengths. Anyone can mow them down if they see one coming.
Pyro: Airblast and shotgun repeatedly until you kill them or until a teammate kills them while you juggle them. Or airblast them off a cliff.
Scout: Circlestrafe and shoot him, just like you do with normal demomen. Avoid getting meleed.
Soldier: Shotgun, repeatedly.
Heavy: Avoid his charge then pepper him with natascha for an easy kill.
There's literally nothing useful about the targe. If anything it promotes more suicidal behaviour.
What I don't understand is why every person who has a negative opinion about TF2 feels like they should make an entire thread about it.
I for one am sick of threads where one person talks about his ideas towards a recent update.
Danka?
Didn't I JUST see you on a trading server hawking shit?
>implying that hats are stupid.
Valve is full of comedians and funny guys, we're all comedians and funny guys (very nice!) the pimp-hat is there cause it's awesome. The Bonk Helm is there because it is something Scout would have. Valve tries to make hats true to the characters personalities, while adding in little quips and humorous things. Do they prevail in this? Yes, one thousand times yes. Also, if you don't play TF2 don't come crying to us about it. Just don't play the game, it doesn't really effect me if you like or not like TF2, and I'm sure it doesn't effect anyone else here other than yourself.
Hats don't bother me what bothers me is the NEW FUCKING WEAPONS the scout got the most annoying things in existance the black box is so gay.
