Fan-Made Engineer Update - Games

The flying sentry doesn't look as good as the other stuff, but it's a good concept gameplay-wise. Maybe if air looked like manhack/bioshock flying turret, water looked like it does now (minus the trailing red... things), and the land looked like the water one shaped slightly differently with wheels attached without the propellers or the tail, then it would be okay. I just don't think the Engineer's buildings should have any frilly stuff or anything unnecessary, because the Engie is a very, very practical man.

And it already looks like a bioshock flying turret.

I'm guessing that due to the way it tilts, the no turn would flip you off if you tried to stsand on it. Or at least alter it's angle so you slide off.

Ridiculously overcomplicated ideas there. And if I see that damn dog one more time I swear...

Should have left the flying sentry as an Automated level 2 sentry that basically flies around after the Engi.

The multimode sentry looks cool, but the use of the water mode could be limited. Not that many of the official maps have deep water. Still a good idea though.

But all his ideas are ridiculously overpowered. The 'Flying Sentry' idea is good, but it would be better as a Sentry Replacement, not a Teleporter replacement. And why does he give his ideas ridiculous amounts of metal? Why can't he just make them a bit less powerful? The Doomsday Device seems like a rather odd concept as well. Too gimmicky. The Amplifier and the No Turn are okay, so I guess not all his ideas are as out of whack as I said. Wait a minute. Low Accuracy? You mean high bullet spread, right? This still doesn't change the fact that it should be a replacement for the sentry, not the teleporter. And I will ignore that statement on the end. If you want to turn this into a flame war, go right ahead, but I'll try to keep petty things like name-calling to a minimum. The 'Guard Dog' update was well executed but a bad idea, so if you feel it was good, good for you. I liked the production value, I just don't like the idea at all.

But i like flame wars. Give me Gaybows to "fill me with peace " :smug:

Your previous one seemed to looks like you were frustrating, without sense, against this fake update. My apologies anyway.

This fake update page is really well done, I tricked several people into believing it was real.

That's a really creative update, I love all the animated stuff. Though some of the ideas I don't like, it's still nicely done. I'd love to have that multi-mode sentry though.

I would like to see a flying, mobile Sentry, but I think that it should fill up the Sentry spot. Teleporters are too useful in all situations.

Yes! I finally found out what's wrong with his designs. They are a bit too "blocky", as in, the base is always a huge, undetailed box. It's mostly obvious on the No-Turn and that latest sentry. How would they ever fit into a little toolbox, and what would be their assembling animations? Even the Amplifier's huge ball would be able to fit, if the sphere could somehow "unfold" itself, but those compact boxes are so wrong, there is no way they could be any smaller if they look like that.

Big bertha sounds like a sentry with all the problems a normal sentry has, times 5.

big bertha is awesome I would laugh if valve came out and accepted this as a second update, or just adopted some of these ideas.
