IKEA lamps are not made out of metal and do not rust. :colbert:
I have an IKEA lamp... It is made out of metal.
Yes! I finally found out what's wrong with his designs. They are a bit too "blocky", as in, the base is always a huge, undetailed box. It's mostly obvious on the No-Turn and that latest sentry. How would they ever fit into a little toolbox, and what would be their assembling animations? Even the Amplifier's huge ball would be able to fit, if the sphere could somehow "unfold" itself, but those compact boxes are so wrong, there is no way they could be any smaller if they look like that.
Obviously you haven't seen everyother building, they start out compacted and expand (i mean all the engineers buildables as of now, not these fake updates)
Can some1 make tf2 props of that?Thats realy awesome.
Obviously you haven't seen everyother building, they start out compacted and expand (i mean all the engineers buildables as of now, not these fake updates)
That's pretty much what I meant. Now tell me how that huge box which supports those gigantic cannons can start out compacted and expand? It has no visible screws, no detail, nothing. It just looks like a compact metal box which couldn't get any more compact. [editline]02:35PM[/editline] I actually love those concepts, but those boxes are really bothering me because I intend to ask that guy if he wants to make working and animated models for GMod, and the assembling animation might be a major issue, especially with such a design flaw.
epic.
Valve should hire this guy, he's obviously mighty creative and can put together a compelling website. DO IT VALVE.
I don't like how every single building he made is a weapon.
I don't like how every single building he made is a weapon.
-Oops, Wrong thread.- But, This is true about the Engineer update.
I think the buildings (excluding the multi sentry) would come from a full upgraded building. The Amplifer from a lvl 3 dispenser, big bertha from a lvl 3 sentry, DDD from a lvl 3 teleporter (entrance would explode when changed). At least I think that's how it should work for big bertha... Speaking of the new large beauty, how does one get more than max metal to construct it?

Big Bertha looks reasonable-ish [editline]03:22PM[/editline] At least he is trying to keep them somewhat balanced, but that flying one is just crazily complex.
Is that the guy that made the Guard Dog update? Let's find him and beat him. To death. :toughguy:
Why? If you thought the guard dog was real for even a second you're the one who should be beaten to death.
I think these updates, although impractical, are well made and would look funny. Besides i think these things were by no means made to be serious. In terms of the additional metal perhaps you put down a foundation and as you add metal to it, it constructs itself slowly.
all these ideas are either over powered, or god damn crap. He doesn't seem to take into consideration the way it would affect gameplay. I'm not surprised this came from they guy that made the worst idea in TF2 history, The Guard Dog.

[editline]08:02PM[/editline] I'm not blindly defending anything, but a bunch of people just seem to be hating without giving any reason.
I would break down everything I dislike about these if I could ever connect to the site.
You should be able to make the flying sentry patrol an area. I'd like to have mine fly around the base in 2fort.
You should be able to make the flying sentry patrol an area. I'd like to have mine fly around the base in 2fort.
That would be badass
Site is down. :saddowns:
What the Christ is wrong with Big bertha. To over powered imo
slow moving speed scout can outrun it.
The link aint working for me, someone else got this problem?
His English is so bad it hurts. :ohdear: No offense.
Stop. Fucking. Bitching. Jesus, he is just doing it for the hell of it, if you can't give constructive criticism, then stop hating on his work. If you aren't at least going to give criticism, give some goddamn reason for your hate, the guard dog update was fine, and it also has it's flaws, but all you are doing, is focusing on the negative and not even appreciating the positive and goddamn creative stuff he worked hard on. His English? ENGLISH?! His "English" is understandable and he is trying, he comes from a different country/language (Brazil, correct?), and English isn't his first language, but at least it isn't the "English" that half the people on FP use. Now for my opinion, these ideas are almost perfectly executed, but not exactly the...best of ideas. Meaning, we have an expert model maker, coder, and website designer that has thought of these ideas, but they aren't exactly the best, as are most community ideas. I preferably like the Big Bertha and how you traded power over speed, same scenario as the Heavy, but from what I've seen, it'd better be much slower, considering it's automated. As for the flying turret, this one seems....just a tad bit over the limit, not to say on unbalancement but on the limit of exploiting and complication, if you were to make it fast and reliable but terribly inaccurate and extremely low health (perhaps build speed time decrease or less metal required) then balance wouldn't be to much of a problem, but how you would code that...I don't even... Most of the others have been suggested around.. well... hundreds of times, but the most unique one I see there is the "No-Turn", it's a very interesting concept with a..less than preferable execution, but good nonetheless. As with the flying turret and it's high rate of fire, the No-turn better be inaccurate (whether it be loads of bullets or speedy fire rate). TL;DR: You best be at progress with some balancing ideas.
slow moving speed scout can outrun it.
unless it's in a narrow area, like the spiral in 2fort
What I don't like is the fact that you can't really feasibly tell how they've been built. All the others fold out when the engie is building them, you can watch the pieces go together, which is the main part of the style that's been missed.
Here's some constructive criticism. Big Bertha is a shit idea. What are the current flaws of the sentry gun? Corners Circle Strafing (On low level sentries, however under certain circumstances even level 3s can be strafed) Range limitations It's strengths? Superhigh damage in close quarters Massive pushback (not always a strength) Rockets Fairly tough. What are big bertha's weaknesses. Turns slower, gets circlestrafed by every class and his dog, pun unintentional. Less range, the sentries range is ridiculously small as it is, this just limits it further. Corners will be an even bigger problem, due to slow turning. What are it's strengths Tough, a tanked SG is already a bitch to kill High close range damage, sounds familiar, OH WAIT, the SG ALREADY KILLS PEOPLE IN 0.3 SECONDS "Grenades" which are just a renamed set of two rockets rather than one. Big bertha is crap, it doesn't add anything new to the engi's arsenal, it just reinforces the weaknesses of the normal SG with very little actual improvement.

The DDD would be great. Imagine this. You just finish building when a spy comes and saps all your stuff. If you know you are about to die, you hit the DDD, which kills the spy, and (presumably) rips all the sappers off too. It would give you a second chance against those pesky spies.
I believe the Multi-Mode Sentry is a bit balanced due to it being crafted using two tokens and a damn RECLAIMED metal.
