Think of it like mini patrolling sentries, they move around a certain sized area and most likely attack anyone that comes into their range, and by the way he worded it I think you are right, they will climb around.
These are nothing but weapons. I want a teleporter upgrade, not a replacement.

Those are replacements of the teleporter. It isn't doing what a teleporter does.

Perhaps one that has a slower recharge, but offers some temporary buff to those who use it? Like a speed buff, or damage resistance or something? That would be pretty awesome. Couldn't be for more than a few seconds, though.

Would be more of an upgrade than sidegrade.

A slower recharge, which I already mentioned. Basically, the recharge of a level 1, or possibly slower, with a slight buff for the people taking the teleport. Either non-upgradeable, or the upgrade only effects the buff. Or, hell, brings it up to the speed of a level 1's recharge if we're making it [i]really[/i] slow.
The point is, there's a fair bit you can do to provide a side-grade teleporter. Make it teleport everyone within a certain radius or something, I don't know.
Maybe it could be a launchpad?
The rest of the buildings have to do damage
I am confused with this fan-made update, is it usable?
Will it be downloaded automatically when I update TF2?
And is it some sort of mod that changes my game? Or is it an official update by Valve that was contributed by this guy?
