That laser sentry is his best idea (and one of the only ones with a similar art style to TF2). GOD FUCKING DAMN IT JUST READ THE METAL COST. 250 FUCKING METAL FOR THAT?! What the fuck is wrong with this man and metal costs, seriously, fucking 250 metal for a 1v1 building?!

The anthill is similar to a concept i made up a while back. The two are probably unrelated however bit i like what he's done, yes they may not be any use as part of a proper update but you go out and make a model as good as that with as decent animations. I FUCKING DARE YOU!

So a level 2 sentry costs more than 350 metal. Most of those are technically more powerful than a level 2 sentry, so in my opinion, they actually don't cost enough. They should cost more than that, keep in mind that they cannot be upgraded. For instance, Big Bertha should deal horribly insane damage and have decent range, but cost 500 metal. It's less than an overall level 3 sentry, except it cannot shoot until it's fully constructed.

Anyone else think the laser gun sentry would be better for combat engineering and ninja sentries? As long as it's quiet, I think it would be a little better than a level one.

The Laser seems balanced in my opinion. Of course, these are all hypothetical ideas. What does he mean by "Long range"? From "Sniper Deck to Sniper Deck on 2Fort" long range? That's a bit too long. If it keeps tracking down its target 'til it's dead, it leaves itself to be damaged. Whereas, unlike the sentry, it only focuses on its locked target, not the closest threat to it. [u]Pros[/u] (Supposedly) Higher Damage Long Range Fast Rotation and Targeting [u]Cons[/u] Cooldown Time Low Health Once Locked On, Traces until target is dead, leaving it vulnerable to attack. [u]Usability[/u] ++ Guarding Narrow Chokepoints or Open Areas + Point Defense - Guarding Intel -- Guarding Interior EDIT: Meant to say balanced instead of OP. :frown:

That's quite brilliant because although the idea looks classic and overused, when you look into it, it isn't at all. Even if the sentry had infinite range, that wouldn't cause a problem, mainly because of its reloading time. As a sniper, you would simply need to get into its field of view, immediately run into cover, and come out and shoot it 3 seconds later. Not to mention it sucks dicks if it's assaulted by more than one player at once. I think it's mostly useful for keeping isolated attackers at a distance. Stuff like that makes me wish Valve actually took those ideas into consideration. Sure some may seem OP but what has Valve released that wasn't OP (save the community weapons). Besides, they are possibly more interesting than the crap Valve might release for the Engineer.
He took my idea of a laser sentry. :geno:
