Wow those weapons are shit, even more if the wrench is the Engineer's unlock
the fuck you talking about that wrench is fucking awesome
should still be able to upgrade teleporters imo, but not dispensers / sentries
lvl1 sentries wreck shit in Arena.
once killed 8 and won the match
Call me lame, but I deem both of them useless as they are now listed.
PQD should in my opinion either have nearly instant building time, or make you able to upgrade to at least level 2. Level 1 sentries on offense usually don't stand long enough to even give engineer chance to collect metal for building a new one. Maybe a good alternative could be possibility to build 2 level 1 sentries instead of 1 while not being able to upgrade.
GRU seem stupid for me. Usually heavy doesn't even need to run. With a good team (which I think is logical to be present in "Competitive play"), he gets healed until getting backstabbed/sniped, where this doesn't help. There should also always be teleporter which gets him near to place of action in time, so not even travel doesn't really justify it. Maybe I would deem GRU to be useful on pub where team can't take care of their heavy properly, but that kinda ruins the competitive nature of item

Maybe on Arena full of loosers. Most classes are able to take out/outrun lvl1 sentry with ease when properly played.

They require team work to be used right. If the GRU's can drain your health to death, then you'll need a medic or sandviching all the time. The PDQ will give you a fast building in a short time, while other engis with normal wrench can upgrade it. Your the builder, their the upgraders. I must say, I really want to know whats this gonna lead to.
I like the Engineer's wrench, even if it breaks his playing style.
Just reduce the cost of the sentry (75-100 metal), make its model unique and I will love it
Well I sure hope not.
The PDQ would be almost useless in pub games. Level 1 sentries don't last long and no one works together so it wouldn't get upgraded. There's quite a difference between competitive playing and pub games.
If you are crafty with your level 1 sentries you can do some serious damage, sometimes getting 4-5 free kills before it gets noticed. You see it does such a low damage that it doesn't raise any alarms and the enemy is more focused on fighting the humans enemies and might not notice the sentry.

Also, build the sentry, then change wrenches.
Ummm, I read the thread but I may have missed it.
Did anyone confirm this or is this four pages of being bullshitted?
These are what got leaked by people in the beta before, just now they have names and downsides. I wouldn't bother calling bullshit.
Most of the people in this thread have never played battle engie or just suck at it. You can plop a level 1 in a tight corner and easily rack up at least 4 kills with it.

If you change medigun to or from kritz, it resets your charge meter. I assume this would destroy all your buildings.

Yeah, shotgun + level 1 sentry is a force to be reckoned with, and could hold an area against two or three enemies for a minute or two.
Hmm, I was thinking about the PDQ could upgrade other's sentries, encouraging teamwork, however the more I think about it the more I find problems with it.
Wait, did anyone else notice the acronym for the Heavy's gloves? GoRU? Goru? Ehh...yeah. I don't like the idea of the PDQ, it sounds a little too useless.
The fuck no upgrading for the wrench? Well what's the whole point of a faster fucking build speed if you can't upgrade your shit later?

Offensive engineering, hidden sentries, the usual stuff.
