I'm a pretty good Pyro. I dominated 2 Soldiers once using only compression blasts and shotgun, but I don't think I would be even close to being runner-up. One can dream, though.

I don't think you have to actually not suck to join, and it's Highlander so it's not like they're doing the 6v6 setup. Could probably just dick around, for the most part, and you'd still get the participation medal. ...Hmm...

Yes and i just love it how i see an ingame announcement that theres a new blog post. I see that its named "Gotta move that gear up!" , "Surely it has something to do with the Engie update,yay" i think. I rush out of the game and into tf2.com only to see that Valve posted about Gang Garrison,that 2D mod(which i like) and the Engie movie. Now if the post was named something besides a engie quote i might not be that disappointed. I love to read anything on that blog but this time it mislead me.

I readily admit that the standard "srs bsns" player stereotype is just that - an exaggerated stereotype - but there are still a few players uncomfortablly near that disposition who get attracted to events like these. Add in the fact that the TF2 team has already advertised this as a way for people who "crush in pubs" to "find a challenge", and that there [i]will[/i] be teams filled with players on the exact opposite side of the "casual"/"pro" spectrum in it just for giggles and medals... It won't turn out pretty, is what I'm sayin'.
Also, it'd probably take 15-30 minutes to remove all my custom skins/models/sounds. Then the same to put them back. Bloody pure settings.

What, rename Team Fortress 2 to Something Else, then rename it back to Team Fortress 2 when you're done.

Anyone noticed how much time valve is putting into making the competitive community bigger? They mentioned ETF2L on the Blog like 5 times, and they are even sponsoring ETF2L and giving them free 100 slot mumble server. Probably because competitive communities tend to stick around longer. Love valve.
