This is awesome. I read the whole thread. I've been waiting to use this for ages. I have a question though: Why is it only usable now, it took long enough. I can't wait to use it, if you can import maps using the maps folder then I'll be using it to showcase my new map. :smug:

(turn off HD if it's not working)

I'm open to suggestions. How should I end this?[/QUOTE]
The BLU Spycrab chased RED to spawn, then they part and a RED Spycrab comes out between. They both meet and sweet music plays as they Spycrab off into the horizon.
Source Filmmaker is great and all but right of now i'm not going to use it now with all the bugs and missing documentation. Hopefully Valve will release their current Filmmaker but I agree with OP, right of now it's only useful for adding motion blur or DOF with a static camera.

Someone should email robin walker or something asking if they're going to release it because of how easy obtainable it is to get now, and that they should give it to people who aren't pirating the game. (The majority of people are). :v: Probably wouldn't work, but it would get the idea into their heads.

Anyone tried to import a demo?
Which of the patches do I have to apply, anyway? There's one that I think - the dated one - that may update the content.

Also, I think the files may be cached by btaccel now.
I wonder how long til Valve catch on to this and you are all greeted by a BanHammer.

How will they know we did it? It's non-steamed.
Now that everyone has the beta tf2, we should totally play a match on it!
Just speculation.
Bear in mind Steam runs on your computer and can access any file it so wishes.
It could check.

Why should it check shit that isn't the steam folder? The non-steam TF2 exe does not trigger steam's gameorverlay or anything.

Steam only looks at running processes and checks for shit inside the Steam folder. If you simply shut down steam before running the beta you'll be fine.
Unless you are massively retarded and put the TF2 beta in your steamapps.
But Valve COULD make it look for another illegal copy of TF2.
Unlikely but possible.

Ofcourse they can, but that'd be privacy invasion to the fullest.

Rated box of obvious reasons
Honestly, seeing as I've bought TF2 and gifted a copy of the game to a friend, they shouldn't mind having the very first GCF leaked. Seriously, there's so much content that's been added since 2007 that the first beta should be made available for free to everyone on Steam, considering it looks like a demo now :v:

edit: i don't have the patch_tf2_07-09-17_07-09-21
Valve has never checked for people running "cracked" versions of Steam apps seperately. I highly doubt they're going to make an exception in this case just for this.
[editline]01:01PM[/editline]
Coming!
They have banned people for piracy before but that's probably just for cracked Steam clients.
How odd, I run MiSteam alongside. I've never heard of that happening.
I'm merely saying they could if they so wished.
It's doubtful but they are able to do it.
How many is running this software? 100? 10? 1000? unless the whole steam forum was making videos with it and talking about it, its slim to no chance that valve will do something major any time soon
Okay, now all of my characters have an ugly white tint on them like this:

Does anyone know the command to make it not do that? Also when I first started It all of the settings were on low.
Normal mapping is turned off.
I can't remember the command to turn it back on off my head though.
