Well, I don't see how Valve is going to find out who is using the program.
Unless they go on an internet-chase and track down everyone in this thread.
I think it messed it up:

No, that's just the mat_normalmap 1 thing, It doesn't actually enable normal maps, it shows the normal maps of all textures.

Oh god! make sure your running direct X 9 on the game.
Add this to your command lines on launch. -dxlevel 95
Oh!
Also, mat_normalmap 0 ?
No, that's just the mat_normalmap 1 thing, It doesn't actually enable normal maps, it shows the normal maps of all textures.
No, I had mat_normalmaps 1 on in the beginning. But when I turned mat_bumbmap 1 on, that happened.
Aww. I don't think OP deserved to be banned for this thread.

Not all of us are using it though. I personally am going to wait till Valve releases it. It's very interesting to see what you guys do with it, though.

O.o weird try putting one on and one off.
actually try setting mat_normalmaps 0, Cause like AntonFTW said. That enables being able to see normalmaps.

But then again, we said similar things about the idler and look where that got us.
But then again, we said similar things about the idler and look where that got us.
The idler had to be connected to Steam though
But with the idler, they at least had some data that we were sending Steam to work off, didn't we?
This isn't even connected to Steam, unless you're one of the few people who apparently pre-loaded the TF2 beta and never updated since.
aww ninjas

That is because steam overlay is implemented with source games. Or Steam games, So it runs when you launch it. Other games you need to go through steam for it to work. Also, it doesn't know what game your playing + you didn't launch it through steam.
Remember what VALVe did when HL2 got leaked?
Remember what VALVe did when HL2 got leaked?
;D Dumped it and started all over again.
;D Dumped it and started all over again.
Wrong. They were in the middle of dumping it (i.e. trainstation maps).
A note, though - the SFM doesn't render with "hq quality textures" by default.
Im stuck in commentary tool mode, cant get in the Source Movie Maker. :argh:
Every time I make it so I spawn where the camera is, I spawn in the real spawn. Its not until the second time that I record when I spawn at the camera.

Well, obviously they didn't dump all there ideas. But most of them.

Are you sure you aren't using the current Steam version?

Suggesting that it can?
How?
Suggesting that it can?

I meant that you have to physically select "very high" or set mat_picmip in order to get good textures. The motion blur, dof and subpixel aa are a result of multiple fast render passes, not dedicated renders.
What about the hwm models?
Still there and doing the exact same thing.
So that means that Valve will dump their release of SFM, tell us that it was planned for this month and re-start all over again?
They should, for all I care. It's a PITA to use currently.
Didn't they say that there was a big update coming this month?
And the Passing is coming in Spring... That's, like, Feb?

googled it
Yeah, plus we'll get new features, like the shadow effects in meet the spy.
