googled it Yeah, plus we'll get new features, like the shadow effects in meet the spy.
Creating our own dynamic lighting. :D Woot woot! Without editing the map.
2 years probation

Gembe was led into believing that Valve wanted to employ him as an in-house security auditor. Also, if half of the internet is to be employed as playtesters over at Valve, IT'S A TRAP!

I just had a brainflash while getting through this - recording over a clip is really appending what you've checked off to the shot. When you record over a blank clip you must record the world or else you have nothing visual - remember that sound is a seperate option. If you append with only camera, angles, and fov you'll change only the camera (enable noclip and do that), and vice versa adds anything you do without changing the camera. [editline]04:55PM[/editline] Does anyone know how to change the fov of the work camera? I can't find it in the Dme Element Editor.
what the FFFFF-KABOOM Thanks.
No problem. :)
Okay if people don't already know, i'll explain how to adjust the DoF
Dme Editor? Remember to turn the focal plane on.
Anyone putting any new vids into the works?
Anyone putting any new vids into the works?
Rendering one atm
Too bad we can't have any interaction across recordings. :(
Too bad we can't have any interaction across recordings. :(
You can't? I'm going to do some testing tomorrow. Maybe,
Yeah, recording a map with a CP is insane. Try doing one with bots on domination, though - the puppets will stay on domination.
Too bad we can't have any interaction across recordings. :(
I guess that if you need to do any interaction, you get a friend, record a demo with him like normal, and then add the demo in the Filmmaker and add record yourself more there.
You can't? I'm going to do some testing tomorrow. Maybe,
You can't We've tested it already
You can't We've tested it already
OK then,
Does anyone know what on earth the Duration option is for on the "save poster" dialog?
To fix the hologram problem and similar, record only one time with it enabled, then disable it the rest of the times. Its not much harder then that. Has anyone figured out how the cameras works? How to disable and enable cameras between clips?
OK then,
Are you having difficulty distinguishing between commas and periods?

And then you have to record on that, then after right click the new record and click add new camera.
I never knew you could import demos, though - how does that work? The cameras are tacked on to a shot manually and are seperate objects. Any "append" to the shot that updates the camera routes it to the camera instead, except the camera retains its path seperately. There's no unified interface to work with them, though, adding them is done via a context menu, removing them is impossible and switching between them is done in the dme editor for the shot or via context menu. edit: - this means you can share cameras.
I'm pretty sure you can't import demos It's buggy with .dem files
BTW, the semi "video editing" features are pretty gimped, IMO. Why does it keep leaving huge gaps between clips?
What happens if you try Publishing it to Steam?
How exactly does one switch between the cameras in the Dme editor? And you mean the "Dme Element Editor" right? I also wonder how to change the position of the cameras. Ofcourse I can just change the cords but is there a way to change it in the camera view and have it applied to the context directly?
What happens if you try Publishing it to Steam?
It does nothing and instantly calls it a success.
Just e-mailed Robin, asking if this changes their plans for the near future.

I find the cameras pretty inflexible too, though - I haven't found a way to change a camera's path independently of a record.
