Go to the current shot (search by name?) - there's a key called "camera" in there. I find the cameras pretty inflexible too, though - I haven't found a way to change a camera's path independently of a record.

Zooming In allows you to edit successive records (see below) in shots, replace "append" with "overlay" - you shouldn't be keeping extraneous tracks around. You can also edit these via the Dme Editor. (I'm not sure how cameras work "properly" now, either.)

These are like the tracks you get when you add another Track Group (i.e. you can edit sound inline like you would in GarageBand nano, or hide and delete models appearing in takes although not so conveniently).
Edit:
The successive takes just create themselves automatically, they're just normal tracks. You can edit them, actually.

I guess recording and then loading different maps without making a new session isn't a very good idea.
(You can't select maps on a shot-by-shot basis, can you? I highly doubt it.)
How did you load it? I can't tell the difference between the Load Map menu item and just using changelevel or map.
Why the hell every video made in SFM seems to have very small FOV?

Changelevel tells the client that the server is changing level but map shuts the server object down before opening the server again, all clients recieve "Server shutting down" as a disconnect message.
(thanks.)
Here's an extremely successful attempt at exporting a video

Because it's low by default and holding LMB while scrolling up to zoom out isn't the first thing most people try.
(thanks.)

I'm having the same problem, I can't export :(
I managed to export once, but it didnt create the file. But I did see it in the file list when I wanted to do a different export. However it wasnt there when I opened the folder.

It might've exported to a weird folder, check in the box on the top where it exports the files.
Easy way of changing cameras: Hit K, then adjust the camera and hit C
Also, somebody should make a more indepth guide to things hard-to-understand thingy.

Have you ever seen a real-life movie shot with a field of view of 75 degrees?

Really laggy server, just joined it.
You keep re-changing map to cp_dustbowl every 5 minutes.
Then pings are about 3000 and it takes about 9 seconds for me to move a short bit.
And if I taunt, it takes about 20 seconds to get out of taunt mode.
Nevermind, lag issues seem to be fixed now. But nobody else is in except some dude named Antii in spectator.
How odd, you can export tracks in Final Cut Pro XML format.

What the hell, you joined as i was making my movie? I had the server up like 3 hours ago lol
So the SFM does create a listen server, does it? Anton, did you see puppets?

Oh crap then, I didn't even know you could join Film Maker servers.

Nope
Damn, that would've been hilarious.
Don't preview audio, you can't stop them!
Damn, that would've been hilarious.
Yeah, but maybe he just didn't do anything.
As he was just in spectator whole time.
You can still record to camera there, actually. It's a pity the beta doesn't have the smooth noclip/spectate.
Managed to make it run :v:
Someone should do a megathread for help with the tool

We don't know a lot about the tool, so it wouldn't be a very contentful megathread.
And the most information about it can be found in this thread.
