I've got a question; how can I record ALL my playthroughs in first person?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
To Fearlezz: http://www.youtube.com/user/callwithcurrentconti. It stands to say I don't have any experience in machinima whatsoever :saddowns:

After the first playthrough, I'll have to see myself through the camera I've set (and if I tick "view from player" it just shows my viewmodel from that camera)
The viewmodel should be one large lump the model track of your shot - wait, let me show you.

Meet the demoman?
Right-click and Zoom In on a shot, and you'll see that shots are really made of seperate tracks. From this point on it's like an audio editor; you can move, remove, tracks in time, or edit the properties of them via the Dme Editor.

Good, now i dont have to redo the whole thing if i do something wrong!
Epic thanks cpt. Slow

I know that, I'm asking how can I really view in first person while I'm recording over an existing shot (to add a second character).
Ticking "view from player" doesn't work, it just takes the existing static camera and translates it with my movements.
...I've never really had that problem, to be honest. That said, I've always practiced good record hygiene...
Images speak for them self lol

Found out what was wrong; I was always setting up the camera after the first shot instead of after having recorded everything
You forgot the textures and stuff.
Also do i get it?

Check the console - what were the issues with loading the VTFs? (I'm assuming you remembered the textures)

Those maps have textures that don't exist in the beta.
Amirite?

Newer maps will not work unless you HEX edit all the materials it uses.
As TF2 Beta uses VTF 7.3 and Retail TF2 uses 7.4 there is no difference between 7.3/7.4 except 7.4 has a 4 instead of a 3 in the VTF making it unreadable by beta tf2.
Though egypts textures works fine.
And don't try anything stupid like copying over newer .dlls from retail TF2 without backing it up.
I tried changing StudioRender.dll MaterialSystem.dll vtex.dll and then game didn't work :saddowns:
Had to get a friend to upload his /bin folder because I failed at making a back-up.

Isn't that because it's a custom map with custom textures?
Isn't that because it's a custom map with custom textures?
No, it assume it's because he selected an older version of the .vtf format that is compitable with the TF2 Beta.
Isn't that because it's a custom map with custom textures?
No its because they where made with the older version of VTFEdit I believe. Valve started using the later version after the medic update came out, I remember how everyone had to update their gear to be able to edit the textures.
It takes 10 minutes to render a 10 second clip, and when it finishes, I only get about 150 frames out of the ~300 I need.
Lame. :frown:
weird, it takes less than 2 minutes to render a 10 second clip to me... And it renders fine..
weird, it takes less than 2 minutes to render a 10 second clip to me... And it renders fine..
Same. Takes like 2 minutes to render 15 seconds with 32x motion blur and 4x jitter AA.
Here's my shitty test video

Damn, 'twas working fine an hour ago, but now I can't export anything (the -0.2 seconds remaining, over 100% of completion glitch)
I got an email from Youtube pretty-much saying: "Yo dawg, your Source Film Maker Test Render video is pretty popular. How'sabout we put some ads on yo' shit so you can make money for your views".
(obviously paraphrased)
Omg, why are you posting media tagged videos in HD, while YouTube is fucking slow.
It's you.

Do you know what, specifically, you have to hex?
Simply download vtfedit, open the newer once and save them again, vtfedit saves as 7.2, HL2's vtf.
Haven't bothered with videos yet, but the poster function is pretty sweet too.
