This is gold :buddy:
I hope that Valve will release the tool for everybody, and all of TF2 machinema gains that quality.
I hope it gets released for all Orange Box Applications. I mean how do you think they made the Day Of Defeat Source Trailer? I've been wanting to make a DOD:S video forever.
And this has what to do with Episode 3?
We're hoping it'll persuade them to release SFM for reals.
The OFFICIAL release is suppose to come out with Meet The Pyro.
I would absolutely love to get SFM in Gmod... even though I doubt that'll ever be possible considering even demos can already break loads of LUA scripts in it.
* Integrated postprocessing effects: the frameblending is being completely done by SFM, so it doesn't rape your HDD writing 256 frames for only one at the end
* Rewind/forward that doesn't break stuff; ability to replay a scene EXACTLY like you want
* Integrated video/audio editor (although minimalistic)
* High resolution output
They're all an incredible gain of time...

Hey, about the new update that just came out: are there any SFM/IFM commands in it?

No :sigh:
Seriously, if Valve released the Filmmaker for twenty bucks, I'd buy it
(mostly because I can make money with it with YouTube, but well :v:)
If valve are angry at us it's their own fault for not releasing it

That's actually illegal

I would think
i'm too lazy to read through this thread did anyone get ifm working with current retail tf2?
Okay, I finally managed to download this thing without getting random errors at the end of the download. This may be really obvious but what am I supposed to do with all these .bin files? Because the .rar files isnt all of it.

Ignore them.
How the hell do I change the camera settings without it going down? I change the FOV and then it only raises the FOV at one point and then the FOV slowly reclines back to normal. I assume it's because of the line when you press the red circle. Is there a way to just up the line?
Ignore them.
Oh, thanks. Now it seems that RUN_TF2.exe isn't extracting from the .rar, and I'm assuming it's needed. Did anyone else stumble upon this?

How is that illegal?
you dont need that one, you need hl2.exe
And where can I obtain it? Do I just copy paste it from my current version of tf2? Because theres no hl2.exe in any of the .rar's.

Making money off of others copyrighted material.

You can make money off of game machinima.
Not legally, unless the developer of the game has specifically stated so.
Machinima.com is the biggest money-making thing, and they most likely get away with it because no one will go after them because it brings their game/engine publicity.

Specifically granted by Microsoft. I believe their one of the few with an OK from M$.

But Machinima.com frequently has contests sponsered by EA and other major publishers.

They've got clearance from loads of publishers, actually

Yeah, there was that big Mirror's Edge machinima contest a year ago that I remember well. But I don't think that companies can claim copyrights on just a regular Youtube user's channel because it features a certain game, even though everything else was written and filmed by the user.
